The Unfolding

So what exactly is this ebook?

I know possibly some of you might already have this, but for those that don't.

Here is the effect:

Three photographs are displayed; each is of a different statue of Marcus Aurelius.
(The photographs can be any 3, so presentational possibilities are endless)
It is explained that Marcus Aurelius was a Roman Emperor, and is also considered one of the most important Stoic philosophers. One of his most famous quotes is displayed:
“Everything is unfolding as it must, and if you observe carefully, you will find this to be so.”
The mentalist explains that this philosophy will be put to the test.
A man and a woman are asked to help.
The woman is asked to choose a photo…any one…a completely free choice, and she can change her mind as often as she likes until she is 100% sure that she has the one she wants. The photo she chooses is placed face up in front of her on the table.
The man is given the same choice, and it is explained that the photo that he does not choose will be left for the performer. Again, he has a completely free choice, and can change his mind as often as he likes. The photo he chooses is placed in front of him, and the remaining photo is placed in front of the performer.
The quote by Marcus Aurelius is mentioned again.
“Isn’t it interesting how this quote often relates so well to our lives? It makes me wonder if the reason that things often work out this way is due to fate, or perhaps our own intuition of the way things should be. Even in simple demonstrations like this…everything has unfolded as it must…”
The photo in front of the woman is turned over and written on the back is:
The photo in front of the male participant is turned over, and written on it are the words:
Finally, the photo in front of the performer is turned over, and, of course, on it is written:

Let me start out by saying that the method is genious, and I had one of those, Why didn't I think of that, moments.
The effect plays out exactly as described.
Paul includes everything you need to print out at home, and make up for this effect to work.
In this case Paul uses Marcus Aurelius, but I am sure one could adapt their presentation into anything!
I really enjoyed this, and I will be making up one soon.

The method is very well hidden, and I don't see any problems arising.

You will have to put in a little bit of work, but its not that much.

I had heard of Paul before in the past, as having created other items for mentalists to use, which I don't have, and so this is the first work I read of his, and he is off to a fresh start, if this was his first item he released.

For those interested in the above effect, contact Paul for any more questions.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for taking the time to post your thoughts...I'm glad you like it!

This was released sometime in 2010, and has been pretty popular!

Currently it is only available via Ebook through http://www.mentalvoyage.com
and as a hard copy (including everything you need) through Merlins of Wakefield,
although hard copies may be available from mentalvoyage.com soon.

Jprager, thanks for posting the link!

Ggarcia, please let me know if you have any questions.

The ebook also contains 4 additional routines using the same method:

"Giving", "House Hunting", "Multi-Colored" and "Murder Suicide"

Thanks again Alex!

Just got this today- and went directly to Staples to make everything up needed. This is very nice. Not hard to make up everything you need. You can do it all at your favorite office supply store. The method is sweet! I will be using this and it can reset pretty quickly. If you are moving from table to table- I bet you could get away with resetting in the open. Once made- this will last a long time. As previously mentioned, I love the fact that you can use any pics you want. The method itself is worth the $20. Highly Recommended!

Thanks for posting guys!

The main effect may not work in German, but the "House Hunting" (and maybe some of the other effects) will work for sure.

Anyway, PM'd you.

Resurrecting an old thread, I know, but would the effect work 'in the hands' (walk around) or does it require a table as mentioned in the Ad copy? I'm guessing it probably would, but want make sure before purchasing.

Thanks for contacting me Tim!

Although it may be possible to do this without a table, using a table will certainly make the handling easier.

With careful audience management, I suppose the participants could hold the photos while they are being selected, eliminating the need for a table. I haven't tried it this way, but it could work.

I hope that helps!

Thanks for the interest!
