Topic: 10 Second Table or Ultimate Gig Case II
Message: Posted by: MagicMichealMan (May 15, 2011 06:00PM)
I'm trying to decide between the two cases. http://www.toddmckinneyproducts.com/page2172.html and http://www.charvetmagic.com/catalog/i7.html My basic critera is they need to be able to be checked as baggage on a plane (which I think they both can) they must have work space on top, and room for storage. So, I'm stuck. I also need a side table, which there is one included with the Ultimate gig case, but since it's so much more, if I end up going with the 10 second I'll probably get this or something similar as a side table http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwxO4LUKqS4 (Btw anyone know of something similar but a bit cheaper?)

So which one has worked better, looks better, and function better for anyone who's owned one or both? Does one store more than the other? I would be nice to have a ditch bouch on the back.

Thanks!

I second the suggestion for the Large Lefler Suitcase Table. Check it out here: http://www.elmwoodmagic.com/full/accessories-pro-suitcase-table-large-joe-lefler__1481.htm

Michael -

I've thought that the Ten Second Tables, by David Charvet, look pretty nice, too. Aaron Jones from our magic club used to have one. I don't remember if his model had the open top or open back.

On this thread, Skip Way offered his opinion about the portability of the Ultimate Gig Case. You might want to read it.

In the Tom Ogden video, it looks like he's just using a simple Waiter's Stand, with a cardboard box on it. I've also seen performers with a briefcase or metal camera case (inexpensive) that they set on their waiter's stand. Russell Food Equipment in Victoria might sell Waiter's Stands, so you can look them over before you buy.

Another table that might interest you is the Laflin Table.

I use a large Lefler Table. I also use a couple of small side tables, made with 14" square tops, and the Eureka Table Base. Sometime soon I'm going to replace my side tables with the ones from Fairchild Magic.

I've never liked the lefler, I'm not really sure why, but I'm not sure that it could be checked as baggage on a plane.

I'm not sure how the odgen video got there, must have been watching him at the time, but the right link I meant to put was: http://www.tonyclarkmagic.com/magicshop/index.php?route=product/product&path=38&product_id=101

I'm thinking of going with something that doesn't seem so "magic case" and more of something that reflects my personality. I hear there's a new case coming out within a few weeks so I'll have to wait and see.

I have a 10 second table from Charvet and am very happy with it.
