Have you guys seen this yet? It looks promising.

Reuben Moreland is making his debut with this effect!

Here is what Mac King had to say about Reuben - "Reuben Moreland is my favorite young manipulator"

He has won countless magic awards and has taken the tnr plot to the next level! Can't wait for this to be released!

Hey Guys,
I appreciate the enthusiasm! I've been working very hard on this effect for a number of years now. I hope you all enjoy it when it comes out on Tuesday!

Just posted a quick video of the second restoration in this effect before tomorrow's release.

Full trailer comes tomorrow for those of you who don't like these silly little teasers :)

In any case, both Reuben and I are here to answer any questions/concerns I'm sure most have with an effect such as this. The thing that I think will make Fourfit stand out is the fact that you can show BOTH sides of the card the entire way through the routine after every phase.

Hey guys, Here is the third restoration in FourFit. I hope you enjoy!

Message: Posted by: Lloyd Barnes (Oct 25, 2011 10:40AM)
From the 3 teasers so far, I'm 99% sure of the method. I'm not fishing for the method but if it is what I think it is, then it's all ready been published before. If this method allows for the card to be handed out instantly, without a switch of the card after the last restoration, then I may be wrong.

So my question is, can the card be handed out, immediately after the last restoration without a switch and be fully 100% restored? If so, I'm interested

There are T'n'Rs, already out there, where the last restoration is achieved leaving the card fully restored and able to be handed out immediately. I.e. the switch is done during or before the restoration itself. If this is the method which I've seen published previously, then you have to switch the card after the final restoration, then I wouldn't be interested in this.

P.s. I know I'm coming across as harsh but I'm extremely critical over this plot.

What's the logic behind 4th restoration? Why it just appears? It looks fantastic anyway but...
Message: Posted by: alex_pandrea (Oct 25, 2011 02:04PM)
What you see in the restoration videos (and what you will see in the trailer) is only 1 presentation for the effect. Reuben goes over so many different ways of restoring each phase - from angle proof methods, to one-hand methods, etc. Each phase is different, which is something I really liked when I first saw this!

What I think everyone will take away from this the most is the different variations of restoring the pieces. You can take these ideas and apply them to so many things- mix and match them to come up with your own sequence.

Check The Blue Crown tonight at 8PM EST for those who are interested. Thanks so much everyone - we are really excited about this one, and after working on it for 4 years I'm sure Reuben is also :)

Can someone answer my question, please?

Also, the method that I mentioned earlier, which I believe is the same basic method that had been released before was an effect called Faultless by Jamie Dawes. Seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGYUfKZ5Ji4

I know I'm being tough but if I'm going to pick this up, I don't want to be purchasing something I already have.

I have no idea what just happened in that trailer...so I don't know how to answer your question

Fourfit was shown to some of the most respectful names in magic - its more than just another tnr...its a formula. It allows for endless possibilities.

A little over 2 hours remaining! :)

I agree that trailer was a bit mental but you can see the basic method in it, which I'm sure is the same as FourFit.

Anyway, before I take the plunge all I want to know is that is isn't the same basic method as Jamie Dawes' Faultless and that I wouldn't have to switch the card after the final restoration. Fourfit looks sick I just hope it's practical, the importance of not having to switch after the final restoration is paramount for me.

Hey Lloyd,

I will try to explain this the best I can here, but I'll shoot you a pm as well to explain it a little more :)

In the DVD Reuben teaches how to hand out the card at the end, the switch happens during the last restoration. This means - you don't need to go back to the deck and switch the card. Also, keep in mind...in any other tnr that "ends clean" you are still stealing something off in the end. The same goes with Fourfit - you can end completely clean after restoring the card and hand it out right away.

I really hope this helps man, I don't want you to get something you won't use or get any use of of it...one thing I can tell you is that there is so much more on this DVD than just the routine. One handed restorations, GREAT subtleties on making this look exactly as if it were restoring, variations of each restoration, a way to do everything face up, how to show both sides throughout every phase, plus a super clean tearing sequence that sets you up for the routine!

Ok, lol sorry for rambling, I just really believe this is a winner :)...I have hated tnr effects ever since trying to read through drawing room deceptions when I was younger haha - I have performed Fourfit quite a few times now...that says a lot if you know me :P

Thanks for the brilliant and thorough reply Alex :)

That's all the info I needed. Sorry for coming across like I was fishing or just being a dousche, I'm just major picky with my T'n'Rs and wanted to be sure I was getting my moneys worth. Taking in everything you've said, I'll be looking forward to picking this up. I have no doubt the quality will be second to none as well.

I'll be grabbing this with my next pay :)

Cheers Alex,

This does look good, might get it. It also looks/sounds similar to Dave Forrest's STAR. I'm guessing the central MO is the same, although I have to admit that Rueben's handling of the pieces is more artistic. BTW, I'm not suggesting this is a copy, just independent creation (the effects are also quite different in appearance). Either that or I'm way off base and the methods are not alike.

Morning all,
I woke up this morning and looked at my emails telling me about this effect. First reaction THIS LOOKS GREAT! So then comes impulse buy and I did read an earlier post and as much as this is a realy good trick I do have to be honest. Yes you get all the information on how to END CLEAN but you don't realy end clean as all magicians would like to in this stage.

But on that it is still a great trick and great to see refreshing and brand new restortions and these are 100% top notch so hat off to that.

I do think I will use this and will give it a try. like most t n r effects it will need a little practice and all the bonus ideas and moves are great again.

over all a good strong 8/10 and worth the £15 tag price.

If you love your moves and t n r effects then you will not be disapointed. Worth getting

Cheers Chris Webb

Just purchased the download for this and once again am not able to download it! I always have problems downloading from Blue Crown, but strangely have no problem from other sites...

The last time I had this happened (when I ordered Bold Assembly) I was told that they were "currently rebuilding our download platform - the new system should be up shortly" and the time before that (when ordering Coin Waltz), "It seems as though your order was placed as our system was migrating to our current video platform". I imagine it's a similar reason/excuse this time.

I'll think twice before ordering from Blue Crown again which is a shame as their products are usually really good - the frustration, however, is just not worth it to me.

Message: Posted by: alex_pandrea (Oct 27, 2011 09:40AM)
I am sorry you feel this way Ian. We certaintly don't want you to feel frustrated when ordering from us. Although our downloads are offered through streaming, you can always request for a link to download the file to your computer. This does prevent piracy a bit while at the same time making sure that everyone gets their download.

Also, we areee rebuilding out platform :) ...it just doesn't happen over night unfortunately. We have been building a new store with the download system in place and moving every single product and customer over. Although you won't see a difference physically on the site, you will definitely feel it in the experience, so don't give up on us just yet :)

Please let me know if there is anything else that I can do for you and I'll be happy to help

As far as fourfit goes...I am so glad people are liking it. I am positive there is something in the DVD (about an hour long) that will change the way you look at tar effects forever :)

I am pretty new with this plot, but for what it’s worth I have really appreciated Fourfit. The routine is straightforward, without any weird sleights stopping the rhythm.
The routine is not as technical as one may think at first sight, and the clarity of the explanations, with the different angles of the camera, really make it easy to learn.
I also like the fact that the pace of the explanations allows you to take your deck of card and to follow everything without having to watch each sequence 10 times to have it down.

I am quite happy with my purchase, and will without a doubt give it a try in the near future.

Iain, I also had a little problem with “the download”. I contacted their support, and they solved it in half a day. I have to say it was at first a bad surprise, but seeing how quick they found a solution to make me happy, I just can endorse The blue crown for their service and the quality of this video.

Thanks Alex,

I've requested a download link via PM and email. I hope to receive it soon.

I suggest you make it clear on your website that you won't be able to actually download the file unless you actually request it. As far as I'm concerned streaming is not the same as downloading it to your computer.

Iain, let me know how everything worked out!

I'm glad everyone is enjoying this effect - I keep hearing - best tnr effect ever, most visual tnr to date, etc. etc....and its VERY exciting for us! This tnr was shown to Chris Kenner, Jeff McBride, John Armstrong, Mac King...there is really NOTHING quite like this one...I even got a call today from Calen Morelli about it. All this makes what we do totally worth it.

Reuben has won over 15 awards in magic...ranking 1st in just about every competition I have seen him in. After FOUR years of working on this effect, we are very happy to finally bring it to everyone!

Thanks again, and let me know if anyone has any other questions!

The method is pretty much the same as another product on the market.

I've got a post on page 4 and 5 about it.
Message: Posted by: alex_pandrea (Oct 28, 2011 11:43AM)
What does "pretty much the same" mean? Reuben has been doing this effect for 4 years now first of all, and second - there is nothing similar out there. We researched STAR - the effect you mentioned. Dave Forrest is an awesome magician and came up with a great tnr there, but if you are talking about method - no, I'm sorry- they are different.

Fourfit uses a different method for each phase- that's what makes it so great and visual. In any other tnr effects, your essentially doing the same thing 3 times in a row. There is no escalation. In Fourfit, each restoration gets better and better - ending with the most visual restoration/appearance of the last piece we have ever seen.

Just trying to get all the facts out there ...hope it helps :)

Just a chime in. It was mentioned that it was similar to my FAULTLESS TnR and I do believe the first restoration is the same method from what I've been told. However, these things happen and I would never hold it against Rueben or The Blue Crown. Research and stuff is hard. Its impossible to come across every single variation of an effect put out. Either way, if the method is the same as mine, its a brilliant method and I would suggest people explore it as part of their TnR repertoire!

Jamie Daws
Message: Posted by: ReubenMoreland (Oct 28, 2011 06:26PM)
Hey Jamie,

Thank you for chiming in. As you probably suspected, I was not aware of FAULTLESS while working on Fourfit.

That said, I totally agree with Jamie that it is impossible to find every variation, and I do not think that one should be negatively portrayed based on a small aspect of their effect.

Fourfit offers multiple variations of every phase of the routine and the first phase featured in the promo video is only one of the possible restorations. It is only a small aspect of the DVD. I have been working on Fourfit for almost five years now, and have shown many top names in magic my routine over the past three years or so. I know first hand how much work it takes to come up with a piece of magic, and respect everyone who does so. Jamie, Bravo on your work!

If you guys have any other questions about Fourfit, or anything, please feel free to contact me at reuben@reubenmoreland.com

For those of you that have already purchased Fourfit, thank you so much! You have no idea how exciting it is to be introduced to a new aspect of the magic community!
Message: Posted by: alex_pandrea (Oct 30, 2011 03:40PM)
Jamie and I spoke about this and worked things out. He's a great guy, and very talented too! Definitely check out his work on this plot as well if you are exploring.

Fourfit has been getting great attention by the top names in magic, and has quickly become one of the fastest selling on the site! We know learning these kind of effects can be difficult, so we filmed the explanations through a mirror, so you can get a view of what the audience sees, as well as a behind the shoulder view (magicians POV). I think this is something important to point out as we have had nothing but amazing feed back from the quality and instruction that is on this DVD and realized we haven't stressed this enough in the copy.

Thanks everyone, and let us (Reuben and I) know if you have any questions about anything!

This TandR is by far one of the most visually pleasing and creative looking TnR I have seen basically ever. yea I saw the first restoration I thought of Jamie's effect, and was like oh boy this again (--) but then I saw the second and third I was like (oo). yea there are some nice tnrs that looks like you tear up the card and put them together the same way it was torn in, but Reuben actually took the plot and made it entertaining and a fun journey. what is great about this (and I'm a fan of this) is that each time you restore the card, you use a different method in turn destroys what the spectator things is happening (even a magician). did I mention that he doesn't just teach the basic one routine, but he teaches different variations like one handed versions, and face up versions. so basically this covers pretty much all bases. so if you want twists and turns in your tnr routine I would deff check this out! great work to the blue crown again and I cant wait to see what else they have coming!

Well I only got to seee about 10 min, since the streaming video is soooooooooo slowwwww.....and I have a fast connection.

I havent been able to watch more, since it just froze there.

then I redo it, and it starts all over, and I have to wait hours.....this is frustrating.

I got to the point of making the gimmick, and that's it.

I emailed blue crown yesterday and they sent me a download link, but when I tried it, it said Limit Reached.....so I couldn't download anything to my computer!!!

This is the first time I ever had to wait for a download for a long time....

I hope someone could help me out.

looks like a really good TnR, but I am disappointed in the fact that I havent been able to see anything on it.

I wish Blue Crown would answer my email since this morning about the Limit REached, and I want to be able to go home tonight and see the whole 50 min video.

I streamed Fourfit today and I'm extremely impressed. First off, I should mention that this was my first purchase with the Blue Crown and the video quality and speed was better than many competing companies which I've bought from in the past. The footage is crystal clear which definitely makes learning the trick more enjoyable. (I watched an older L&L publishing DVD yesterday – boy have we advanced in film quality since then..)

I’ve seen Reuben perform his stage act at a convention in the past but didn’t really know what to expect from him as a teacher, especially since he is young and, to my knowledge, new to the “magic instruction” circuit. Simply put, I was EXTREMELY impressed. While others could have (and would have) taught Fourfit in five minutes, Reuben walks you through the process step by step at a slow yet reasonable speed and then runs through the entire trick again closer to real time.

A mirror is also used for times when Reuben wants you to see moves/hand placements from an audience perspective – something that I haven’t seen in a magic video before. Also, some of the "tips" that are included (such as scissors tip for those who have purchased it) were really neat and make it clear that this was a well thought-out DVD and not something that was just thrown together in an afternoon's time. I tend to be a slow learner but the intricate detail of Reuben’s teaching had me performing the trick decently by the end of the video. And YES, I have gotten it to look just as good as it does in the promo video.

It takes a lot for me to post of the Café but I really feel that Fourfit deserves this review and all of the hype that it's getting. Reuben Moreland and the Blue Crown as a whole has gained a new fan. Highly recommended.

Yet another great review! Thanks evildraco1. Yes, we've come a long way since the L&L days, even though some of those tapes (yes I said tapes) were pretty kick-ass! #childhood haha - but speaking about quality, you're right, The Blue Crown really takes it up a notch when it comes to detailed explanations - something we are very proud of :)

How long is the prep? how long takes the reset?
May this be done strolling around?

Message: Posted by: ReubenMoreland (Nov 28, 2011 01:36AM)
Prep takes less than 3 minutes (with practice) of course. (I have completely set up in about a minute and a half in the past)

Reset depends, In some cases, it's literally instant, in others, it may take a little longer. There are several variations to the routine included, so it all depends on which one you choose.

Some variations of phases are angle sensitive, but I include angle-proof versions of each phase to accomplish the routine in more limiting conditions. you may need to have some practice in crowd management though.

Sorry this took a while to respond.

C'mon...really! This is a Torn and Restored Card routine. I'm quite confident that if it was a Torn and Restored Anything it certainly would have most certainly been mentioned in the ad/promo/demo, and most obviously a real bonus for those that are tired of all the TnRC tricks. ;)

I've had this a while and tried to learn it but I just got so frustrated with some of the moves. Perhaps I'll try again with some of the other handlings.

It looks very similar to phuzed by Dave Loosely which I also have but it's not as easy as that. But does look better.

Ah bless me --what I always love about most T & R effects is that the magician can restore the card but can't get rid of those incredibly nasty creases he's made !!

Sounds to me that this DVD is pretty comprehensive explanation of T & R and if it was someones first time at a T & R it would be a good buy. If you've already got one of the several billion T & R's on the market I wonder if there is that much new here to get excited about.

I am truly a T&R junkie... Just placed my order - will review in a few days.

How does this compare with "Star", by Dave Forrest?

Star is 1,000,000 times better. It's WAY cleaner, more organic, less angle restricted, easier, and the chances of you getting caught in star is 99.9 % less than fourfit. I honestly don't see how fourfit has such great reviews......

Because Fourfit looks AMAZING. It isn't too difficult but the angles are a problem. I am actually surprised Craig and Dave gave it a good review because they are always about practicality which I don't think this is; it is more of as they say a "youtube" piece. I love Star and feel it added something fresh to tnr's but I hate the last restoration which is the only reason I haven't performed it. Dave mentioned on here that he does a different ending that is more fluid but hasn't updated us...I think he should.

I believe FOURFIT is much better than STAR. The handling is more simple and more fluid as you are effectively
dealing with less pieces during the restoration. There maybe a few angle issues but that also applies to STAR
and most other T&R effects.
I was impressed with the DVD on FOURFIT which has been filmed via a mirror in parts, which shows you what the
performance looks like from the performers view point and also from the spectators viewpoint - a nice idea! The first restoration on FOURFIT is nice, very nice indeed... I agree with Blueroyalty regarding the last restoration on STAR - it sucks! If just that for reason alone FOURFIT comes out on top.

Don't hold your breath... It took him 5 months to ship the original DVD for STAR! Customer service is not a strong point.

I think if you have done other Torn And Restored cards before you'll be fine and used to working your audience for angles ( also many other methods on this dvd that are variations on restored pieces that have way less angles but not quite as magical) . I watched it and really liked the method although I would not recommend to beginners.
A fantastic piece of magic from Mr Moreland as his opener to teaching us guys something special !! Thanks Reuben can't wait for more.

Both reuben and dave are great thinkers, and I think if you like tnr plots there is no reason why you shouldnt check out both effects. Im sure there is something useful to learn from both! What ithink you would take away from fourfit most are the variations taught for each phase, and the variety in restorations from the first to the last.

I haven't looked into "Fourfit" but recently learned "Star" and have performed it several times. I'm really happy with it. I don't understand why some people don't like the final restoration. Can anyone elaborate what he/she doesn't like about it? I guess some people want to simply place the final piece in place and have the total card "mend" without folding it at all?

My main problem with Fourfit is that 3 cards are ruined to achieve the effect, and NOT A SINGLE ONE is fully restored at the end. If this downside at least gave a more convincing Tearing of the card I might let it slide, but the tearing is possibly more suspicious that in classic handlings like Guy Hollingworth's.

Having said that, I enjoyed the restoration methodology and how visual it was. But the angles leave it far from being a worker.

I have mixed feelings about this effect. I have no problem with the tearing section, I think that looks ok. And the restorations do look really nice, especially the first one.

For close up workers not being able to hand out the card is an issue. Yes, Reuben does cover handing out the card but for this you'll be using 4 cards & it will require a force. Also, the card cannot be signed although I don't think to the layman that this is important. The problem I see with the hand out version is simply pocket management. You're going to have a pocket full of different pieces which could cause difficulties if you're not careful.

If you're performing Fourfit in a parlour setting like Reuben does then this is a good effect. But for walkaround I'll be sticking with Garcia's Torn. This is nothing on Fourfit suggesting how you would get into it in a strolling situation either so you'll need to work that out yourself.

Not ending clean (hand out version) shouldn't cause a problem. Many tricks don't end clean, so an experienced performer should be able to ditch the dirt easily enough.

Reuben covers some different handlings & for a debut release this isn't too bad.

On a final note, someone asked above if it could be done with money. With some thought I don't see why not & actually think this could be a really good idea. Borrowing a bill also would eliminate the card force & some of the worries of practicality in a walkaround situation. But you will have to kiss goodbye to a few bucks.

Hey guys. By a strange coincidence, FourFit is reviewed in the March issues of both Genii and Magic Magazine! Make sure you check them out!

I realize I may be a bit late to the game on this one, but I just ordered FourFit today Aug 8th, 2014 and I cannot wait to get the dvd in my hands and begin learning this as it looks awesome. I have TnR by Mathieu Bich and never really liked the 'prep time' to make the restoration work, and while I admire Dave Forrest for his stuff STAR left me a bit disillusioned with the ending bit of clean up. I am looking forward to FourFit because of the idea of being able to show the sections front and back at each point in the restoration and if I read correctly there is a face up version as well, which would be really different.

Just got FourFit yesterday in the mail. I love the look of the restorations and Reuben's teaching style is great...looking forward to learning this and putting in the effort to make it look as smooth as he does. Great job!

I agree with The One, the angles limit its use but looks great if you can get it smooth enough. I've had it a few weeks now and its coming along nicely.
