I could have sworn I read in my collection about a way to get a new deck into Si stebbins stack. When I tried to find it I was unsucessful(Maybe a Magic or Genii magazine?) I though I knew how to do it, but the way I am doing it doesn't work. Can anyone direct me to a location to refresh my memory? I can do it by laying all the cards out, but I'd rather be able to blow through it with a new deck quickly. I don't have the Ortiz book, but I thought it may have been "tipped" soemwhere else(heck...I almost remember it, so I learned it somewhere, just can't remember where).

It is in the Ortiz "Card Sharks" book I believe. I cannot give the whole thing away, but you change the position of 3 cards, overhand shuffle a number of cards four times, and then 2 out faros. Hope that jogs the memory. By the way, it is a reverse Si Stebbins.

It's in Darwin Ortiz's book "At The Card Table" and it is called "Si Stebbins Secret". It is also on one of his videos from A-1 and tipping the method on this forum is a no-no.

That may be part of it. I thought it was two in faros. With the over hand shuffles...are we throwing the balance on top after each run of cards and then continuing? Or do we just run the cards, then throw balance on top...then two faros.

Ps. I didn't ask for the Metohd to be "Tipped"...just refreshed. I don't have the Ortiz book, but I've seen it in print somewhere, or at least enough to put it in order. I thought it was discussed in a magazine or some lecture notes. Not sure. I was pretty sure it was behind me ont his wall somewhere, but maybe not. WOnder where I read this at then? Hmmmm. I even remember the way he remembers the overhand shuffles. Wierd.

Swain has a few nice routines in his books using Si Stebbins that you might want to check out.
