What a pleasant surprise this AM--Vodini's new work in my emailbox!

Only had a chance to skim (well, not exactly true: Paul's writing is so good, that I had to pull myself away lest I not get any of my own done) and, true to form, it looks fantastic! I have a very special interest in his premise so I want to savor this work (either Old Boy Network sherry or a nice dirty martini, the kind Roosevelt introduced Churchill to). So at this point, I'm not able to comment on specifics, but will make this blanket statement and welcome any rebuttals, since I doubt any will be forthcoming:

Vodini is so&*%^ creative, and such a good story weaver, that he should be banned!

Hmm--make that banished to the mental/bizarre underground where his wonderful contributions will forever be out of the hands of the masses.

(I know that will cost you money, Paul, but, as they say in the spy business--nothing personal.)

Oh, it's never personal! ;)

Thanks for the kind words.

Nice review from none other than Neal Scryer: "This is bloody great! It's just the book I've been looking for! Truly wonderful!"

So far I've read the first 3 entries: The Hangman's Noose, Baker Street Tarot & Past Life Pendulum.

You're 3 for 3 in my books! 3 sparkling gems!
I really enjoy the premises. I can even feel the atmosphere while I'm reading.

Can't wait until I get a chance to finish the book.
Great job! (as usual!)

I tried to hold out sine I am trying not to spend much money right now. However I could no longer resist and I have placed my order.

I have enjoyed everything that I have read from Mr Voodini so far.

I finished the book.
It seems like there are 6 effects/routines in addition to several essays.

Anyway, now that I have finished it, I can say that Paul is 6 gems out of 6 routines!

Wish I could afford 'Midnight Side'.

Great job!

Thanks for your kind words Mark. Just to reiterate, yes there are 6 routines (3 based around Victorian Scotland Yard and 3 based around Project Stargate) plus some fun and hopefully informative essays (that makes them sound boring and dry - they're not, honestly). As well as discussing how the Shinobi Ninja achieved their legendary status, I also write about 4 examples of real world psychic spies. These psychic spies aren't the obvious candidates, I wanted to steer away from those who are well published.

Glad you enjoyed it Mark. As regard to Midnight Side of the Mind, if you're a friend on Facebook, keep looking out for special deals. :)

Interesting read:

The work of psychic spies continues in the modern era, and not only with governments. Private firms also employ psychics for various reasons.

You did see the date that story was posted, right Paul?

Psychics do frequently help out in missing persons cases though...

I've not got a copy of "Psychic Spies..." yet, but it's inevitable that I will. All of Paul's work is creative, inspiring, entertaining and well-written.

I did, it was just to demonstrate that psychic spies (for want of a better phrase) are not some historical relics from the 1970's. :)
