It is a sad day for jugglers everywhere. Robert Nelson the Butterfly man has been admitted to a hospice in Hawaii. Robert has had throat cancer for some time. He is in no pain, and resting peacefully. Here is a video of him at the Universal City buskers festival in 1992. Please keep Robert in your prayers.

Thanks for letting us know.

Prayers and thoughts for him and his family.

I believe I first saw him on the Pier in San Francisco. As I recall in order to keep from going back to his day job, he got the tattoo.

Be safe, well and creative.

Robert was a chemical engineer before he attended his first juggling convention and after that convention he never went back to engineering again.

Robert Nelson died yesterday from throat cancer at his home in Hawaii. He was a legendary street performer who has performed all over the world, and made millions of people laugh.

Here he is at pier 39 in SF
