Topic: Attaching Clubs to a Table
Message: Posted by: Tony Thomas (Dec 30, 2012 08:54PM)
Looking for a method to attach juggling clubs to the bottom of my performance table. I would like to easily be able to remove the clubs and reattach the clubs during a show. I'm toying with a couple of ideas, but there has to be a better method than my current best idea. Any help?

Thanks...

Okay, anyone out there... (Echo)

Well, in the absence of help I solved the problem in the following way. I used pipe insulation and plastic tubing. See the pics...

This is the table with the clubs hanging.

Finally, this is a close up of the holder. Seems to work okay. Don't have confirmation as to the long term durability of this solution, but so far, so good.

My first thought was magnets.

If you have more thoughts about how magnets would work, I'm all ears. There isn't anything in the club that would attract a magnet, so I'm not sure what you are thinking about.

To give y'all an update. I actually modified my holder. The original one pictured above, kept eventually squirting out the clubs. It was also a little hard to get the clubs in. So, I kept the basic idea, and went with this modified version. This is a side load (in and out), but it is much quicker. It is also totally stable and wont squirt any clubs out. I'll attach a couple of pictures below...

Here is a picture from the side. I removed the foam insulation because that was what was causing the problems...

I have seen people use the clips that you see at pubs that hold the pool cues to the wall when they are not in use. They seem to work quite well.

Think that's way better, Simple and no need for any technical overkill. easy access and quick to set up.

There's also grips for cleaning items (mops, brooms) that are meant to hang on a wall that grip the item well, but are still easily removed. If the dimensions are right you could attach one to the side of the table and simply push each club into the holder and remove them easily when you need them.

I think these ideas are great, especially if you are attaching a club to the side of a table. Here is a link to the pool stick clip idea...

Here are some interesting clips for mops and such, also for a table side. I haven't tested any to confirm that their size would work, but the idea is great...

I use flat elastic to hang my clubs from my table. 3/4" or 1" wide works. The elastic can be attached in individual loops, that will go around the knob of the clubs, or attached in one long strip, and tacked down about every 2 inches give or take a little, depending on the thickness of the club handles, and size of the club's nobs. This keeps the clubs secure, yet allows them to release easily too...
