Where is the appropriate place to talk about performance. To float some ideas and get some advice and feedback?

It would rather depend on what sort of performance you had in mind.

If you want to talk about your card magic performance - I'd suggest one of the card forums. Personally I'd pick the busiest vaguely suitable one.

If you want to talk about your mentalism performance - then look for the mentalism forums - Penny For Your Thoughts or Inner Thoughts.

You get the idea.
