Topic: Tenyo Alpha or Numeric word doc/spread sheet
Message: Posted by: edshern (Feb 22, 2013 09:52AM)
Hi guys,
Anyone have a current word document or spread sheet of Tenyo?
All I really need is Name & T#. I've done a couple but
I was playing with the master list & screwed up my file when
I made changes and saved the wrong stuff, tried to undo it and just
dug myself deeper  (Crap)
Anyway, if you could email me a copy it would be appreciated.
THANK YOU!
Ed

Ed,

If you have an iPhone, I highly suggest you and anyone else in the forum download an inventory app from the Apple App Store. You can begin cataloging your Tenyo collection (you can create custom attributes like T #, condition, etc, etc), take photos of each trick, upload your database to a cloud storage provider, and export your collection via CSV or PDF.

The "MyInventory Pro" app costs about $8 and even directly integrates your inventory items with eBay in case you want to sell something. Since your data is already input, you simply click, "Add to eBay" and it's done.

Not only do I have an iPhone, I LOVE my iPhone !
My iPhone is real MAGIC!

I will check it out.
But I wonder if they make it for the PC. It would be easier to maintain
the inventory on my computer.

Thanks

Excellent spreadsheet Mr Wizard and Stereo! Is that in Excel? Any chance you all would be willing to send a copy to a fellow collector? A great way to know what you have when all you have to do is put x's in the column next to the T #'s you own. Plus in one spot you could see what you need to get and also go for the good ones first. Thanks gang!

Thank you Mr. Wizzard. Someone with good Tenyo Karma has helped me get 80% of what I was looking for. I am afraid to punch in how much I have spent the last 4 months :) I do not want evidence for my wife to stumble upon. She might decide to sell some items to buy a Louis Vuitton:-)

Thank you for putting all my work in the form in a spreadsheet. Very usefull.
I think the notation have to be updated with the latest vote of visitor's, and there is some trick I have added past months which are not in the list.
Message: Posted by: MrWizard (Mar 22, 2013 10:24AM)
You might correct that with work others helped to compile. Spread sheet was made 4-18-2012. The file is editable if users think it needs to be updated which is very time consuming it is easily done. Most seem to be very happy with it as it is. Tenyo line of effects and votes is ever changing this spread sheet being editable gives each user the opportunity to update it as they like to help them keep track of their own collection it is not meant to help keep track of changes any place else.
Message: Posted by: stereo (Mar 22, 2013 12:23PM)
Personally I hate this kind of Alphabetical classification. I find it impractical and not very readable.

For those who want to reorganize the file, if it's possible, I suggest you separate the tricks by kind of collection with each is own page.
-The main T-tricks collection classified by the chronological T-number, more easy to find the trick with his associated number.
-The Tenyo special tricks by years.
-The Disney tricks
-Blue Box and professionnal props
-The japan Only Tricks
-Magic set
-The Catalog
...Etc Etc ...

By having a first list with only the T-trick you can more easily try to complete this T- collection and it is more rewarding than having a list with a majority of the check boxes are empty because they are very special trick hard to find. This is how I do personally, Each collection have his own list that I have printed and put them in the folder of instruction sheet.

Good luck to all, collect them all !
Message: Posted by: MrWizard (Mar 22, 2013 01:03PM)
With it in Alphabetical order it is super fast to find any trick you are looking for if you don't have the T number which many new collectors don't know. : )

I find it very readable from A to Z in seconds find the one I'm looking for without knowing the T number and can then see what T number is right there.

The people have spoken they love the list as it is. : )

Have fun guys

Richard

This is a spread sheet, right? In Excel I presume? So who cares about its current format? One click and you sort the info in the order you want : T-number, alphabetical order, the items you have or the ones you don't, etc.

Am I missing something here? :worry:
Message: Posted by: ChasVH (Mar 22, 2013 01:37PM)
No you are not Simon... that is the beauty of an Excel spreadsheet.. you can organize in any order you want based on any column you want etc. Really does make it easy to keep track of your collection and see what you have and don't have.

Charlie

Yes this is perfect for every collector.
You don't like the way it is you change it can't ask for any better than that.
Anyone that hasn't got this from me yet please feel free to PM me.
I'll be glad to send it to you. :)

Great looking list Richard. Wish I had it a few years ago. Having the rankings from Stereo's site included is a nice touch. Very classy of Stereo to provide that. I copied the list a few years ago off the Tenyo website and imported it into an excel sheet and tracked it from there. Too lazy now to change my list. I am old school and like T numbering but as pointed out very easy to change on a spreadsheet.

I hear Pierredan and would be nervous for my significant other to see what is "invested" in the collection :)

Well you could copy that info from this list into your excel list just add the columns. I will send it to you anyway see if you can copy that info to yours. ;)

List has been sent!
You may find you want to change to this one. :)

Message: Posted by: Angelo Carbone (Mar 22, 2013 04:43PM)
As has been mentioned, just click on the header column to sort alphabetically/numerically that column. If you like it sorted by T numbers, no problem. If you like it sorted by product title, no problem either.
Message: Posted by: MrWizard (Mar 22, 2013 04:55PM)
It's Magical :)
If you don't know the T number by title is easier to find for a newbie.
I have not known the T number many times and by title worked better for me.
If you know the T number you would want it in that order then that's great too.
Message: Posted by: stereo (Mar 22, 2013 05:05PM)
I've never used excel and Mr Wizard never send me the file so I did not know you could change the order. Good news.
Many collectors can read this topic but can't send pm because they can't registrer (email condition wich is very restrictive), I think it will be a good idea to make it available via a share website, or give your email.

"The people have spoken they love the list as it is"
I don't understand why you reply this everytime, someone said otherwise ? This prevents of wanting improve? or offer advice to make it better ?
Message: Posted by: MrWizard (Mar 22, 2013 05:10PM)
I have not sent you this file as you have refused to communicate with me via PM.
You have not asked for it you have just complained about it.
Do you see anyone say they don't like this list? LOL

Modification is just a click away for those that can read.

If someone wants it they can register it is free not a problem.
File is for members only.

I may add the list is posted they don't need to have a editable file to save those pictures.

In fairness the ACME portable hole version 2 is in concept stage and only I have a copy to test and was also shared with Simon for a second opinion on the new method, etc. If I do decide to have this marketed like version 1 then of course would need to seek permission from Warner or delete that part of the trick. I was very pleased that Simon liked the new version but it is not quite ready for prime time yet.

If I continue to pursue this may ask for a few more beta testers.

Thanks,

John

Mr. Wizard,

Thank you for getting the spreadsheet to me! It look fantastic. I can't wait to start filling it in.

I actually just started thinking about my Tenyo collection the other day and figured I'd have enough to put it all in one relatively small box. I'm not on my third box and still looking for more space! Probably my biggest regret is not getting an extra copy of floating lady. I work only with kids and used to do that trick all the time and it's pretty beat up now. I remember buying it for ten dollars and the shop owner telling me that I was wasting my money...oh, to have a time machine!!!

Since I got one of the first, do I need a redo or am I missing something? Sorry, coming in late on the discussion and want to make sure I have the correct spreadsheet. Again thanks Mr.Wizard

Skyker,

Let me add a thank you to you and everyone else who helped put this together! It's a great tool for those of us who are Tenyo collectors...and if you're not, why are you here anyway!! :)
