Is anyone here familiar with the linking razor blades? Is the basic principle the same as the normal linking rings? If anyone can help me out, it would be greatly appreciated. I would like to use this type effect in combo with some other razor blade tricks.

I had this effect for a while because I thought the on-line video looked really cool. However after working with the effect I decided to sell it. It just wasn't my cup of tea. I

didn't feel it was very practical for walk- around as the gimmick is very delicate. Also, because they are razor blades you need to be very careful, they are sharp!

I hope this helps,

Cody, you sold too early!

First off, take the time to dull the blades. When I have seen other magicians perform the effect, they handle the blades like they are afraid of cutting themselves. This fear completely dominates their performance and is actually very distracting.

The effect is very practical for
walk-around. In addition, after performing the effect, I float the k*y blade. This really looks great and unlike a bill, no one is going to grab at the blade in mid-air.

Bye for now

I have a new set of these I got from Petrick many years ago in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Back then he did it to a routine with a music box. The blades are very real, very sharp, and unused for that same reason. I saw him and Mia earlier this year in Montgomery, Alabama and noticed that it is no longer available. They do link like all other linking rings and, from I have been told, it is almost impossible to copy the key blades. It was designed to be done up close at the table.

As usual, Petrick's routines are good magic.

I hate to pry into secrets, but if they link like other linking rings, is there a k*y blade as well as two that are pr*l*nked?

In the routine, there are three blades, one k** blade and two singles. I am glad that the routine is off the market.

I tend to agree that this type of thing is not for the world at large. Over thirty years ago I swapped my threaded razor blades and my threaded needles for LifeSavers on a thread. I don't even do that any more because I would hate for someone to get hurt trying it.
