February, Black History Month this year I agreed to perform for a television station in the Michigan Science Center. They brought in a classroom. They aired this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPVfTLMJo9E I did receive calls from viewers searching for my name. The volunteer show paid off.

Hey, that's great! While there is frequently little (if any) money in TV and radio, the spin off benefits can be really good. Consider using that clip on our promo reel.

Mike buddy
I'm really proud to know you, but this is the THIRD bow (that I know of) you have taken here at the magic Café, and unless you booked like 20 jobs out of it I think that one bow should be sufficient.

Al, you should become a mod again.

Al,
Booking jobs shouldn't always be a goal. Building name recognition and "local star power" should be part of the plan as well. This helps in closing deals, referrals, and higher fee's :)

Dynamike, once again- good job.

DynoMike
You have never been east of the Ohio border. Did you really think that I wouldn't call you on that one buddy?

I would not call a television show appearance exactly the same as a free show by charity organizations. I don't know any magicians that get paid big fees to appear on television, that is actually a great way to get noticed, as you proved for yourself.

Really great it is working for you Mike!
