Not been here much, lately, but on pitch yesterday and in talking to another magician, I had an idea...

It's this. As a busker for over 12 years ish and having learned from the man, I sometimes have got cantankerous, cynical, irate and peed off with folks enjoying the show but not having the grace to at least come and say thanks. Ideally they would put $$ in the hat, but if they just walk away, it peed me off.

I always used to think that they hadn't paid. But the thing is... And this is a big leap for me.

They did pay.

They paid with their time.

Their time in being in the audience, which in turn helped other people stay and grow the size of the crowd/audience.

Ultimately, it all arrives at the same place though. With them, at times, jus walking away.

What's changed though.

Is how I deal with it.

And that's the biggie. How I deal with it can change. What they do is outwith my control.

Just a thought...

And some times they come back and watch your show again. I had this 4 times a day.

A fine thought.

Thanks RG 4 times... ***.. you must be doing something right.

I rember one show a few years ago where a spectator was just not connecting with me at all. Everyone else, mostly, was. But him U uhhh...

Not only though did he not say thanks, or contribute, he wanted to ( as I was batting), talk and ask questions. And ask how it was done.. Thankfully, I've got past feeling angry at imbecilic moronic sh***y people.

Oops...

I noticed the same thing recently, but also something else. It seems like less and less people are carrying cash. Lately it seems like more people than usual are watching my show and leaving only to come back 10 minutes or so later and give me money. Even though I do have the Square system for credit cards and occasionally use it.

On the other hand it does seem like less people thank me after the show than they used to.

[/quote]that's why festivals are so awesome, people show up not only with cash, but expecting to spend it.
