I finally found a magic shop near-ish to where I live. What a great experience to go into a brick and morter store and see everything up close instead of online. One of the things I picked up there was a mental epic board after seeing it demonstrated...I don't know why but I just LOVE this thing. Anyway, I wanted to get performance ideas but all I ever see are serious ones. Does anyone have any ideas to inject a bit of fun or humour into a mental epic routine. I can't seem to come up with a humorous theme for a presentation.

Dave Cox has a great comedy routine for Mentsl epic in his lecture notes.

Devise funny things for audience volunteers to think of. Don't try to be embarrassing, just funny. If you work it right then the humor will happen on its own and you will have things that come out of the natural humor of the items.

I too bought a ME board a few years back. It sat on my shelf until just a few months ago. Not because I couldn't figure it out, but because using it seemed so forced. One day, things clicked and a decent routine was born.

The last thing you want to do is throw some disconnected funny things together, write them on the board, and call it magical. Especially for something as potentially powerful as ME. I have a rather serious routine, but I'm such a natural goofball that total serious doesn't work well for me.

Sit down some day when you are feeling the funny flowing strong, and see what fits and feels right with a routine for this. If you can't come up with something that feels unforced, put it away and think on it some more.
