If any one update me on what happened with the NYC busking laws. Is it allowed in Central Park and Washington Sq. Park. If so what are the restrictions on where you can or cant do it.

Central Park is the same for me; you can busk there.

Washington square has this deal with being so many feet to monuments; but I've never
faced an issue. I don't work their.

Then again; I'm not out there enough for it to impact me that much.

The key; go out there and do it....

If you need someone to be with you....hit me up....

It seems the busking laws are more centered on amplification and vendors. I haveve performed in central Park several times and never had a problem. Ive been informed by several Rangers that you can not perform within 50 feet of landmarks (Columbus Circle) for example using amplification.

You can not use amplification on the subway platforms YET It is rarely if ever enforced.

The busking laws have effected the bigger dance acts and music acts that rely on boom boxes or amplification. The parks department has also had a stick up their ass but has given mixed signals. The City seems, in my opinion, more concerned with vendors selling their wares such as artists and musicians (cds).

Like anything theres what is said and written and what is enforced.
