Topic: Opinion on Himber ring routine
Message: Posted by: CSMTREE (Oct 7, 2013 10:35PM)
Hello,

There may already be a post on this, but I wanted to get some feedback on great linking finger ring routines. I'm not asking about products, mainly just routines. I've studied Kavlar, McCombs, Pendragons, etc. I just wanted some magicians who perform this regularly to tell me their thoughts!

Thanks in advance!

Bill

Tom Stone had a nice one, it's on his DVD and in his book.

Go look on http://pete-biro.com/my-favorite-videos/ and see a couple of great routines, especially Lu Chen's and Kyle Eschen's.

Jim Steinmeyer has a very nice approach to this which is published in his most recent book for magicians, 'Technique and Understanding'.

Tom Stone's approach is very clever and can be found in his first book, 'Voretx'.

There are some beautiful ideas, though not a complete routine, in Tommy Wonder's 'The Books of Wonder'.

The routine that David Regal includes with his lovely ring set (the best, in my opinion) is very nice.

As I see no reason to retype my comments, as others have contributed good suggestions as well, I will just provide a link to this Original Poster's question:

I wanted to bring more meaning and personal emotional impact to my Ring presentation. I also wanted to have a more simple and practical handling.

So I developed “Bands of Trust” over time. It’s been going over very well at my Magic Parlor for the past year, and getting strong reactions in this small venue. It’s also played well at larger corporate events here and there too.

I was so humbled to sell a Kalver Ring and along with this routine to Nick Lewin himself! Wack-O Innovative magic talked me into making this edition public for Magic Live this year. Hope that helps.

Magically, Walt

All great feedback gentlemen....thank you! Walt, your routine looks perfect, I'm gonna get this! Pete, all of your stuff is first class.
As far as the $350 Nick Lewin routine, well.....not yet! I'm sure it's fantastic, I'm just not ready to drop that much cash yet :).

My best to all!

Pete:

Do you ever see Martin Lewis when you get to SF?

He's one of my favorites.......

I don't think Martin lives in San Francisco anymore. WE used to hang out 40 years ago.
