| In the never ending search for the perfect close-up case, I found a nice one at JC Penny's. They are make-up cases. They come in three colors, black with a silver trim, brushed aluminum and red. Give the wife or girlfriend the make-up and you have a nice case. The top opens up to reveal 4 compartments, two on each side. The base is big enough to hold cups and balls or a chop cup. A deck of card fits perfectly in the compartments. The only negative thing I can say, I wish it was a little bigger. It is the size of a make-up case you would get in a luggage set. Probably not big enough to store all the items you use, but is classy enough and big enough to hold stuff for a night's work. Regular price $70 on sale for $39 |

I don't know if you'll beat the $39, but, there are many shops that currently carry what I believe is called "The Ultra Thin Close-Up Case". They appear to be very nice. Check Malloy's, Brad Burt, or Penguin. Perhaps your favorite shop may have them and I want to say that they are around $39 but don't hold me to it! :goodluck: Lee. P.S. Hello! Thought I'd share this with you...it looks like a briefcase any executive would carry into the office. Open it, and it has a close-up pad in the lid, and compartments of every kind (some moveable), plus a coin holder...it cost me $125 a few years back, but is my most treasured accessory. It has a logo that says, "Magic Hands"...(?) I wonder if that's the one that used to advertise in Genii...Germany-based? OH, and Scott...just checked out yours on your site...wow, now that's perfect! Much more suited to larger effects, you can't fit Cups & Balls, wands, and large stuff in this briefcase, just small stuff. Doug |

After ten years of trying diffrent close up cases from briefcase type to a very nice wood case that opens to a great table purchased from viking. but now I use a small box that looks like a book inspired by Mr.Burger.It holds all I need for a coin and close up guy I.E.coins,cards,sponge balls. walkman |

| There is a great variance in price and quality of the aluminum cases from Lowe's and other hardware outlets. Some of them have very little supporting the aluminum skin, which allows the skin to become very easily damaged. Of course, at the price involved, it doesn't cost much to replace one of these cases. |

Also try The Container Store (i think they are online if there isn't a store near you) as they oftentimes have several different types of cases (both plastic and metal). Sandy |

| I get mine from a German company called Rimowa < http://www.rimowa.de/ > they look absolutely superb and will last you a lifetime. I have gotten many compliments on the case (sometime people joke that it makes me look like I am a high-profile drug dealer with a case full of cash). They are very pricy though, and I don't know if there are any distributors in America. I bought mine in Hong Kong. |

| I have gone to home depot, Lowes, the container store, looking for such cases, and I had no luck. I finally decided to go online. I found a VERY attractive all metal, black and silver briefcase for around 50 bucks (what you should pay for a quality case). I went to a luggage store, their metal briefcases were over 300 dollars! Wowsers, but they were the kind that you carry large sums of money in anyway. Or guns. I also looked at gun cases, but now a days they're mostly hard plastic, not metal. Look online, that's the place you will find what you want. |

I bought a professional tackle box from a local sports chain store, made by Plano. http://www.planomolding.com/759.htm It maintains everything in the same orientation without the need to rely on foam inserts, like the "briefcase" style cases. It is practical, holds tons of stuff, and was very inexpensive (on sale for about $30). Holds way more than you will need for a single show, but if you want to be prepared for anything.... this is it! |
