Topic: Roy Kueppers Coin Bite

Hi guys and girls,

I just picked up one of Roy Kueppers coin bite quarters, but, I thought I was getting the coin in Bottle quarter. Roys site seems to be down at the moment so I can't check, but does anyone know if the coin bite quarter is also used for the coin in bottle trick?

Cheers Kel

The Bite coin might work but they are really 2 separate gimmicked coins. I'm sure you've noticed the gimmicked portion of your Bite coin... if so just imagine the same sort of gimmick on the other side making for a smaller "package" when the gimmick is ready to use. In a pinch the coin in bottle gimmick can be used as a bite-out coin but generally not the other way around due to the size of the Bite coin. Also the gimmick pattern(s) are quite different on each of the 2 coins.
Hope this helps.

No, that is not the coin used for Coin in Bottle. That would be a folding coin. Just curious, what led you to think that a Coin Bite gimmick was for the Coin in Bottle effect?

Thx guys, I'll have to contact Roy.

Jim I didn't really, but when I got it home, when folded it looked like it could fit so I wondered if it was a 2 in 1 trick....I checked my order though and I did actually order coin in bottle.

I hate reviving dead threads but meh - at least I'll be on topic. Anyways, I'm in the market for a coin bite and have noticed that there's A LOT of people who make these *** things. I've also noticed that Roy Kueppers is considered one of the best of the best when it comes to making coins. I'm wondering if there's really that much of a noticeable difference between his and 100s of others out there making bite coins. And what exactly is the difference? I've got more questions but I've been drinking and can't think of them all right meow so maybe tomorrow my memory will get jogged with some of yalls answers.

Thanks everyone for your future(hopefully) help.

I wouldn't say Roy Kueppers is considered one of the best of the best. If you read other posts from other members sometimes his coins are hit or miss. I would consider Todd Lassen one of the best of the best.

Maybe so but there isn't a way to really buy stuff from Lassen unless it happens to be what he's making at the time. I don't think he makes bite coins anyway, does he?

It may well be that Kueppers makes the better coin bite gimmicks. They're under 10 bucks on Amazon, so you can't really go wrong. At least you know it's going to be of decent quality. The really cheap ones aren't even made from real coins, so there's that.

I clicked on the link and read the reviews. It was hit or miss. Maybe you get a good one or maybe not. I guess for under $10.00 you get what you pay for.

That's why I just buy direct from him. I haven't had a problem and he gets replies back to my emails within a day.

Yeah, totally. I guess I'm just wondering if a coin bite is something that you can get in 'premium'.

A Z-fold CIB Coin works for a coin bite. I remember the instructions with the Johnson Magic CIB had a bite and restore on them.
