I know I lurk here in the Café far more than I post. However, I would like to take a moment to ask you all for a little help.

My son, Malcolm, is an amazing little boy. He adores magic and is always practicing palming coins of all sizes! He has had a small setback though. We found out back in February that has a condition called Intestinal Malrotation.

In many cases this is a fairly benign situation. But in 1% of cases, such as his, there is an imminent risk of his small intestine becoming twisted and strangulated. While people can lead fairly normal lives missing their large intestine, the loss of a small intestine frequently is a death sentence.

Surgery is scheduled to repair this defect in Seattle on July 16. With tests and appointments prior to the operation and recovery time thereafter, we will be there from the 9th of July through the 20th. While we are insured, there are still copayments and travel expenses that we need help covering. I have been out of work since January of this year due to an accident that severely injured my left shoulder. So, as you all can quite imagine, our finances are pretty tight.

We have set up a Fundly page if anyone would be willing/able to donate to help us out: https://fundly.com/malcolm-s-malrotation-surgery
Otherwise, your thoughts, prayers, well wishes, postcards, and letters would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all.
