I think this looks like a completely different type of Superhero movie for Marvel. Very excited.

I have never been a big fan of the good Doctor. The thing was for me he seems to have too much power, and too little power.

I am looking forward to Civil War on May 6th.

Looks awesome. Ditto on Civil War Danny.

Disney made there best moves ever buying Marvel AND Star Wars. Oh... AND they still own Disney.

I was not a Dr. Strange fan either but I think I'll be a Dr. Strange movie fan!

Ho - lee spit. That trailer for Dr. Strange look phenomenal. Bringing this back to the original topic, DC will not catch up to that film.

A Zatanna movie won't work like that.
A Dr. Fate movie will not work like that.

The fact is, Marvel did an amazing job in the 60's of making Stephen Strange human... before they turned him into the sorcerer supreme. The DC characters are sort of born as they are full blown. This film will rock!

P.S. Earlier I said I thought Cumberbatch was brilliantly cast... I stand by that.

Does Matchstick appear in this movie? Or do we have to wait for a sequel?

Looks Matrix like which I thought was good.

I was a little concerned that the Ancient One, the old, Asian man who was Stephen Strange's mentor now seems to be a young, English woman!

In the land of magic that was ancient Egypt the women were regarded as the wise ones and the keepers of the mysteries and fit the bill better than the men IMHO. Come to think of it, my three sisters are like a witches coven and my daughter is like a cat.

I hope it's good.

Gotta have the love interest angle available for the sake of sequels!

Seriously, though the Ancient one is played by a female I wasn't completely sure the character in the movie was meant to be one. And that might be due to how Swinton played the character.

According to interviews (as documented on Wikipedia and elsewhere):

"Feige explained that during the development of Doctor Strange the Ancient One was looked at 'as a mantle more than a specific person... There have been multiple [Ancient Ones], even if this one has been around for five hundred years, there were others. This is a mantle, and therefore felt we had leeway to cast in interesting ways.' Before filming began, Swinton did not know if she would portray the character as a female or male, and later stated after filming started that the character's gender is 'all in the eye of the beholder'. Feige commented on the matter saying, 'we use the terms 'her' and 'she' in the film but, other than that, it's very androgynous. Because it doesn't matter.' Feige expanded saying Swinton "does an amazing job of being sort of ambiguous in terms of gender. I think you'll see us playing it in ways that she's played other characters that way. Clearly she's a woman, but it is very ambiguous in her portrayal"

Because it seems to be a major departure for the character. I also got annoyed when the middle aged robotic specialist in "I, Robot" series by Isaac Asimov was transformed into a hot woman with social issues.

Oddly enough, I did NOT get upset at the Mandarin reveal in Iron Man 3.

Maybe Tilda Swinton 'feels' that she's an old Asian man. Who are we to question that?
