I didn't buy it yet because I have a feeling the shuffle must be one riffle shuffle...and not any shuffle...not sure.

Hi, yes it must be riffle shuffles, but depending on the effect, one or more can be done. The manuscript describes the theory beyond so you can design your own version as well.

In addition, part of the deck can be shuffled as you want, only a specific part of the deck needs to be riffle shuffled. So if you want to combine and let several spectators do some work, you have plenty of options...
