Topic: Anyone try Alan Wong 30 head throw streamers?
Message: Posted by: Powermagic (Mar 23, 2017 05:14PM)
I don't know if throw streamers are F/X or if there is a better group for this. Let me know which topic heading would be better if not this one.

I was shocked at the SIZE of each bundle and very disappointed. I am not sure at $3 a pop I will try one or try to return.

Has anyone used these and know how to throw them?
From the photo , I could not tell scale. Based on the name and price, I was comparing it to the 40 head Viking streamers. These are so much bigger, like they took Cressey coils and just made their best attempt at a Kabuki style. They have ALLOT of tissue surrounding it to hold it together and then brown craft paper strip with masking tape.

I have my doubts the coils can clear the tissue to allow a nice spray. Taking a second look at the photo in the ad, I have no idea if they even have weights. https://www.vanishingincmagic.com/magic/mouth-coils/throw-streamers-white-10-pack/

So I hope to find people who have used them that can send me a note on how best to use them and are they worth the $3 a pop or do they get hung up on the wrapping or even un wind nicely?

I don't know if anyone has these and if they found they need some trimming.

I don't know about the Wong streamers but if you are looking for real Kabuki throw streamers such as the ones Jeff McBride uses (i use them too for many years) then Seo Magic is the place to go. if you go to buy from there contact Daisuke Seo and tell Him I sent you there to buy throw streamers! I don't get anything out of it but I do want him to know I am still sending people his way. these are the best out there.

if you are looking for cheaper option for smaller shows there are some options out there.

Sam is right on the money. The important thing to know is that in traditional kabuki streamers, there is a small piece of wire glued in the end of each streamer which gives them that distinctive quality the cheaper ones just don't have.
