Hey gang,

Mike and Max have teamed up again!

That's correct, if you are one of the unlucky few who missed out on the original Metal Deck you'll want to read on...

The new unlimited METAL DECK by Max (Max Playing Cards) in the TEXTURE SERIES

ABOUT THIS PROJECT...

Collectable Playing Cards and Max Playing Cards are proud to offer you the new Bicycle® METAL Rider Back Deck: BLUE Edition.

The Bicycle® Metal Rider Back by Max was one of the most successful projects produced by Collectable Playing Cards and the most backed deck with more than 1 thousand awesome Kickstarter friends.

When Max created the Metal Rider back, the first one in the TEXTURE SERIES, he wanted everyone could enjoy it. Planned to be a 2500 print run, it ended being a 5500 print run due to the high demand. The deck is completely sold out in retailers, available only from some secondary market sellers (for high prices).

Max contacted us a while ago to ask for a second print run but as far as the first one was numbered, we wanted to keep it as a one-print limited edition. He got really sad because although people claimed for more metal decks, he didn’t want to hurt our solid reputation so he decided to create another edition keeping the same essence of the original but doing some changes.

After several tries with different options (Max confirmed that the MetalLux™ technology would lose all the texture in the back as you can’t print on the foil material and metallic inks wouldn’t give real bright to the cards), he decided to create a new color version of the back with a cool and deep blue that would not only keep the original as a limited deck but would give old and new backers the possibility to own an awesome deck.

The METAL DECK is a reinterpretation of the classic Bicycle® RIDER BACK deck using a set of textures to give the cards a real metal aspect.

The BLUE EDITION of the METAL RIDER BACK DECK has the same cards as the original, although the color accents in the back, Ace of Spades and tuck case are blue.

This new blue color fits much better with the court cards color scheme.

Collectable Playing Cards is the main producer of decks using the Bicycle® brand on Kickstarter. With more than 50 decks successfully funded (and some more produced without crowdfunding) they have demonstrated a deep and solid experience to produce and also fulfill these campaigns. They also have a wide variety of playing cards available in their website so perhaps you want to visit their website and have a look while you enjoy this wonderful campaign.

This is a playing card deck made by USPCC, the biggest playing card company in the world. It is, obviously, a deck of cards made with paper (the very best and well known Bicycle® stock paper) so don’t expect to receive a deck made of real metal. I honestly wouldn’t have thought this remark would be necessary but I don’t want to disappoint anyone with the final product.

ALL the TEXTURE series decks have been created to pretend to be something different from the real material that the cards are made of.

All images are conceptual renderings of the final product and are exactly the same that we have provided USPCC with. The final product may vary from the images supplied during the Kickstarter project due to the printing process. Thank you for your understanding.

RISKS AND CHALLENGES

The Bicycle® (Blue) Metal Deck has already been approved by USPCC for printing. We expect to receive the the decks by September 2017 and immediately begin shipping to all our backers. We do not anticipate any challenges with this project.

How do we print and ship out rewards so quickly? We have a close relationship with USPCC. They are able to print our designs quickly and we have a state of the art fulfillment center to quickly ship out our backer rewards. With out you, our backers, we could not make this happen. A BIG thank you to Kickstarter and most importantly all of you!

I have two decks...and they are now displayed in a rosewood card box I was given decades ago. I am going to track down a few more for actual performances, but these are my favourite display decks right now.
