Now I know where the word "comeback" has its roots. Nala, after working the past week, polishing my truck, changing oils, tearing apart brakes,...'brokens'; I finally washed up my hands, turned the old box on,... and read this. 😕 Ling Ling fired ya, eh? cmm,.. Someone once told me, "The only thing that can keep a Street Performer, from the next corner,... is a broken truck." Enjoy your next two weeks. | That was really good Nala. I've seen you perform it once before in video and you still blew me away. I was wondering will Ling Ling still continue on after you quit. I thought I heard you say she's very passionate about magic but I didn't know if maybe you were more of a duet act |

K_S_E thanks! when I told her I was going to have to call it quits, she said "you mean we have to call it quits!" the fun and pleasure for us is that we are doing this together, which is something I never imagined we would ever do. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jo4-RSZybKIe We just have a chemistry performing together, love! for magic and each other. She's into Taekwondo, an acting group (Semi Famous Players) and horseback riding so has plenty to keep both of us busy. Nala |

Hey I'm not sad! Of course I'd love to continue, but I've had a pretty good run. I retired from my day job 14 years ago, performed regular shows while I could, and just kept adapting to what I could handle. Busking was the final one, and I've had 7 years on one pitch. Beautiful spot by the beach, wish it could continue but that's life. thank you for your generous and kind comments. I won't be on the street much, but I'll do it for whomever until I no longer can. Thanksgiving weekend here, weather has been good, we have "street" times booked for Sat. Sun. and Mon. then usually rainy season sets in. So hoping for a good time good hats! may not be back. exercising, riding my bike (stationary) to see if I can come up with more stamina. |

Hey Nala,..rainy day. I should be making beds and washing dishes... But first, We've dropped our Hat, ...passed our Hat, Only twice (I swear!), I sat my Hat flat. Three times it's been run-over. ...too often kicked. Four times forgotten. ....one time nicked. It's kept my head warm, ...dry in the rain. A couple of times, ..hid the throbbing, of a cheap wine's pain. It's held our fortunes, ....more important, our thoughts. It was home to our fleas, our feathers and protz. So much 'un-controlled', 'un-planned', ....'un-endowed'. But for Ling Ling and Nala, this once; we take our Hat in our hands ........and bow. . . , . . . . . , l. . . . . . . . ö. . . . . . . *. . . . . . . Have a nice weekend, you two. Just picked up a new pair of "street" performing pants (special pockets) from my Tailor. I don't know if I'll ever get to use them. But I will at least keep a hope, and a toe in the door. It's up to the ol'back which just isn't cooperating. Season ended, raindrops falling on our heads. |

Actually Gary, It works better standing but with my one foot raised resting on a foot stool. The Sun is out here (a bit) today, If it lasts, we booked 90 minutes from 2:00 - 3:30. Weather here can change moment to moment I've been following your thread, good to see you out there! 90 mins. is about my max though. Nala |

Hey Mike Thank you for that! thoughtful comments certainly appreciated! May get one last "kick at the can" , sunshine predicted this weekend in our area, we booked an hour Saturday and Sunday. Last Sunday we had time booked. When we reached our pitch it was sunny with lots of foot traffic! Dark clouds loomed in the distance though, as we moved our props over started setting up they moved closer, and the wind picked up! We hurried, "maybe we can get in one set Ling'". hah! by the time we were set up the clouds had covered the wind was now blowing harder and getting colder! ...... "hey! were'd everybody go?" we packed up and went home. |

Springtime seems far away, season is over here! chance to do some reading. my videographer is fine tuning her rope routine. Rainy season gives the back a bit of a break. ...before Nala went into surgery, he asked the Doctor: "Will I be able to play the violin after this surgery?" The doctors said, "Of course." Nala replied, "Good. Hey gallager .... How was your winter hibernation? first , thank you for that joke! finally some new material!! 5 weeks and left hand still healing but tender. Busker Fest May the 5th 3 weeks to get better. We have not performed since these videos from Oct. Spent the winter working on a new "street" effect. An adapted version of Giovanni Livera's Rope, Nut, & knot. Stand up, minus cards/card box. bigger nut, thicker rope. Trying out on friends (and my Dr.)seems good. we'll see. Just wanted something different took some time to lean that "appearing knot" Ling' says Hi! (and will be singing, but not with me, with her Musical Theatre group. |
