Topic: Gregory Wilson survives a heart attack

I didn't see this anywhere here so for those who don't know Greg had a heart attack Tuesday night. His girlfriend took him to hoag, where the immediately prepped I'm for an emergency angioplasty.

He is at home now and feeling better than he has in a long time...but he got really close to that final curtain.

That sux, I hope he has a speedy recovery.

Must be better. He's lecturing for our Ring this coming Tuesday.

Wow that's unfortunate. I sure hope it was a misdiagnosis.

Follow up for us, OK? Hope he bounces back soon. Lynn

Stanyon,
Doesn't surprise me...he was getting ready for a 3 month tour and is only putting off a week of it, so "taking it easy" seems to be a relative term.

Due to concerns related to the heart attack, the first five cities of Gregory's tour had to be cancelled. My Ring was one of them.

'Ya win some,'ya lose some!

FWIW

I hope Greg gets a cardiac catheterization done and stays under the care of a cardiologist. I had open heart surgery over a year ago to get a life saving procedure done.

So sad for greg. He is a living legend of Magic. I send him good vibes and I am sure he will recover quickly.

Update?? Is he up and performing? Lynn

I just saw this and am stunned. He lectured to our ring in Little Rock this month and was dynamite funny, high-energy and upbeat. He never mentioned any health problems (and we meet in a hospital!) I sure wouldn't have guessed.

Lynn,

Yes, he is currently on the lecture tour he'd had already planned when he had the heart attack. I believe the episode only push the beginning of the tour back a week. So he is up and working.

I saw his lecture last Thursday at SAM 248 in Phoenix. He was in great form, high energy, hilarious, and ingenious with his approach while generous with his knowledge. He's lost nothing. I'm very glad we still have him around.

That was close! We almost lost a living legend! On top of losing Harry, that would be really, REALLY heavy to deal with. Greg is a hero to me. And I'm sure to many, many others!

Greg is definitely ONE OF A KIND! If there ever was anybody who literally breathed and lives magic through every pore of his body, Greg is that man.

My prayer and wishes for him is for only total recovery and restored full health and a long life! And of course many, many more long years of great magic.

Long years? I haven't seen one of those since I was 25!

I hear 'ya!

Greg is the magician I would love to be. I try to emulate him while still staying true to myself. He's the only magician where I will buy his products when I know I will never use them. I just enjoy watching his explanations. I would watch him read a dictionary.

Hope he's with us for a very long time!
Wish you health, happiness, and all the best in life Greogry!!!

Have to concur with you 100%. Greg is ENJOYABLE to watch. He is so IN HIS ELEMENT when he performs, and audiences pick up on that. He has a lot of JOY in his performances. Makes him charismatic; supremely watchable and entertaining. It's obvious he lives, eats, drinks, sleeps and breathes magic. Like Daryl, a true "magician's magician."

The kind of hero I like to emulate. I sure wish him nothing but recovery and GOOD HEALTH. Magic needs more guys like Greg.

Wilson is a wonderful magician, they type you'd like to be like...A guy that can just fit into any situation and deliver high-powered, in your face closeup magic. I used to see him a lot around NYC, and I still love and do his "Questionable Trick" to this day. A wonderful little effect with a dime and penny. That's what I've always liked about him, he keeps it so simple and the result is always so BIG! So sorry to hear of this challenge, but Greg has strong magic in his corner, along with good wishes and prayers.

Wishing him a speedy recovery.

A great technical magician and a great thinker. I love watching him especially the whole con man routine. Hope he is recovering well.

Ditto.

Didn't know he had a heart.
Message: Posted by: daffydoug (Jul 19, 2019 06:00PM)
He did. And a spade, and a club and a diamond, too.

But on the serious side, Greg holds a special place in all our hearts, (we all HAVE one) and I pray that his ticker is better and that we have him around for many more long years.

When I hit my 60's, I had an awakening, and I vastly changed my diet, focusing on foods and drinks that will naturally clean out "my pipes" (pomegranate juice and other things) so that someday a surgeon won't have to at a cost of multiple thousands.

My dad went through that, and I saw how miserable he was, and I determined I would do all in my power to prevent it from becoming my fate.

But back to Greg, I hope he is around for a long time.

Trying to figure out what this comment meant.
No smiley face or anything to indicate it was a joke or tongue in cheek.

Oh well, I won't read too much into it.
Message: Posted by: daffydoug (Jul 19, 2019 07:08PM)
It is a bit cryptic, no?

But I'm sure Danny will come back to solve the mystery for us!

Hope all is well, he has inspired me so much!
