Topic: Magic Store Closing
Message: Posted by: todsky (Aug 23, 2018 12:14PM)
Just a heads up that I'm closing my magic shop location (Todsky's Magic Shop) in Montreal West, but I'll be greatly expanding the online shop over the next couple of months, as well as offering some things that are either unique or else hard to find elsewhere. Online orders will continue to go out, but if you're In the western part of Montreal, or especially the West Island (where I'm now living and keeping my inventory), I can hand deliver the package to you if you prefer, especially if you need your item in a hurry.

Thanks!

Todd

Sorry to see the store go before I had a chance to visit (I only started a few months ago and I'm already spreading the little money I have thin between Spectram and the Matlin's, which I can walk to on a beautiful day) but I'll keep the online boutique in mind!

Good luck with the evolving business.

I made an order the other day.

Thank you, Gaaragh. But I don 't see any order from a 'Gaaargh'. Unless... Gaaargh is not your real name? I have an order from a Mark and a Ludwig, and even an Aargh. Might you be one of those?

I too am sorry to see the store go.
I only got to visit once, but had a great experience, and was very happy with my purchase, a fine Witches Almanac which is very hard to find in these parts.
I wish you every success in your future endeavours!

It is Mark. You shipped right away, and I am quite pleased.

You're very welcome, Mark. And thank you for your business. Do please let me know if there's ever anything else you're looking for, even if you don't see it on my site.

Sorry to see the store go, but Canada could use a really first rate online shop... good luck with that.

Why does Canada need a 1st rate online shop? There is so much available WW that it hardly seems necessary. That said, I wish Todsky the best.

1. It's nice to see prices quoted in CDN, and to get a slightly better exchange rate than on a credit card.
2. Shipping from within Canada is somewhat cheaper and faster than from the US.
3. Nice to have Canadian gaffed coins available.
4. Nice to have someone you can ask whether a bill trick will work with plastic.
5. Even an online shop may have ties to the local community and support it.

And, all of that only adds up to so much...

6. It also helps our Canadian economy when we support Canadian merchants.

That being said, it looks like I'll be opening up a small brick and mortar magic shop on the west island! Yippee! Details forthcoming...
And the new expanded website will be ready soon...

The new website is up! Constructive criticism is welcome and encouraged.

You can't keep a good magic shop down! I've just re-opened Todsky's Magic Shop in Ste Anne de Bellevue, Quebec, on the West Island of Montreal. A lovely small space right on the lakeshore. Come drop by! 42 Ste Anne St in Ste Anne de Bellevue. Only 97 minutes from Ottawa, 26 minutes from downtown Montreal.. Hope to see you soon!

Well, a year has passed. It sure is hard to make ends meet with a physical store location, so Iím going to close my St Anne location and concentrate on my online magic shop. For my customers who are in the West Island part of Montreal, if you order from my online shop I can probably hand-deliver to you if you prefer that method over Canada Post.
