Oh, I'm sure you can still buy a title like "Magician of the Decade."

Wow I can get a VIP membership for 6 years. Holy cow.

Now, THAT was entertaining! Those two videos are hilarious. I love the shots of the "World Headquarters." Apparently, someone forgot when posting the physical address that anyone can look it up on Street View and see what it really looks like. And the fake press conference is priceless!!

Go for it! If he lets you in on the magic secret of how an old guy grows hair like that, please share it with me.

It was a lot easier to get away with this a few decades ago.

Tony is the Don King of Magic!!!!!! :dancing: :dancing: :dancing:
Message: Posted by: MJE (Sep 30, 2018 09:33PM)
That's a good comparison. But it really is amazing how much FREE stuff you get for $60, isn't it? I mean, ABSOLUTELY FREE for only sixty bucks!!

Fact: Tony is respected and liked by countless well known magicians with huge credentials

Wonder if he looks at his house and thinks ok, that Merlin Award paid for that, that Merlin Award paid for that ...

Well maybe it is a bit harsh as Don King had done time in prison and killed at least 2 people. He spent almost 4 years in jail before the pardon.

So the comparison is not really so spot on. [/quote]
I would agree but you might be a bit surprised when I asked him about his hair and he said " I'm like the DonnKing of Magic!" So obviously the comparison doesn't bother him. :dancing: :dancing: :dancing:

The hair comparison doesn't bother him according to you. I have not heard that from anyone else. I am pretty certain that Tony would not want to be thought of as the magic version of the criminal that Don King is. Not 100% but it is close.

I'm surprised that through this thread no one mentioned the MMBK.
Message: Posted by: daffydoug (Jul 21, 2019 04:08PM)
For those who wonder, MMBK stands for the "Marvelous Magical Burger King," the character that Tony played in the Burger King TV ads in the 70's and early 80's.

Wow, that press conference! Just look at all those journalists with their cameras rolling and the phalanx of microphones from major news organizations ... but it's interesting how a cursory search through the online video archives of CCTV, CNN, FOX, CNBC, BBC, etc. finds no trace of that press conference. Sort of like it never really happened ...

Apparently Mr. Hassini does have connections with some very big names in magic and over the years he has talked many of them into making instructional videos for IMS which have some valuable material, so for that the magic community should be grateful to Mr. Hassini for preserving that material on video. https://www.imsmagic.com/video-library.html
He certainly has some impressive photos showing him with some big names in magic holding their Merlin Awards https://www.imsmagic.com/photos.html , but overall the IMS organization and the Merlin Award has an air of ... flim-flammery. (Exhibit A = that phony press conference).

For those who are making fun of Mr. Hassani's hairstyle (or is it jealousy after all ...), I've read that he grew his hair to hide his hearing aid. Makes perfect sense to me!
Message: Posted by: Futureal (Nov 22, 2020 06:51AM)
Must be a hearing aid from 1985 then because modern ones arenít even visible.

And itís not a hairstyle itís a wig.

Tony's not a bad guy. He promotes magic. He doesn't hurt anyone.
