I am taking suggestions on this illusion. I know we just have to do it more this is the third time we tried it. I am going to slow down getting into the box . And we are going to work on entering and existing the box. Other suggestions appreciated . https://www.facebook.com/100013172169062/videos/593058837809850/?id=100013172169062

Practice until you are capable to get on the table confidently and fluently. Every time you step on it you look unstable, it looks like you could trip and fall. Of course I know you're not going to, but it doesn't look good ;)
If you are not capable of step on it in an apparently natural and effortless manner, just don't do it.

My advice, make a holder for the swords so you don't have to pick up off the floor. Look at mailing tubes or architects' tubes in plastic at Office depot.

I would suggest you don't skip around on stage, it is the sword basket, not your hip hop dancing.

It does not look proper for you to lift the girl under her arms. Lift her from the waist, or just offer your hand as she steps out. You don't want the Me To movement to cut your career short.

The girl was great, it is your actions that need work. Also a good long bow together or you pointing to your assistant and let her bow longer should bring more applause.

I think it would be better for you to seem to plunge the center stake into the top. Then you should get more laughs when she moves the stake.

Just plan you stage movements more precisely and don't try to dance to the music. Music is only suppose to bring emotion to the routine and action on stage. A mistake many stage performers make at first.

Don't know if that is the outfit you intend to wear on stage, but is just to casual. I would suggest some dress slacks and real leather classic shoes. If you want to be taken seriously. And stand up straight.

Good Luck, you should rehearse much more then 3 times, try 10 times a day, and take notes and seek advice from trusted onlookers.

Thanks Bill that's a lot of information thank you so much. We were just running thru the routine to get an idea of how it might look. All the thing s you said are great. What does the Me To movement to cut your career short? We recorded it on the third try it looks better now. I just wanted to let others like you see it to give me some ideas. I normally do stand up straighter and my applause cues are a lot better than on this video. I needed to see what it looked like. Thank you for everything. I also consider you a trusted onlooker.

You're off to a good start. I noticed a few things I would pay attention to. As you practice more you get get more confident getting into and down from the basket.
First I would rotate the basket at times during your routine and turn it slightly to the right and the left. No need to show the entire profile but just keep from sitting in the same position the entire time.
When your assistant enters the basket have her stand up, you want to give the audience time to see the difference in the size of the assistant and the basket. Also I prefer to put the cloth over the assistant's head and sort of push her down into the basket until she is at the height you are starting in. Then you can wist the cloth away for the vanish.
Also I don't use the assistant moving the spear this may get a laugh but is telling the audience she is still in the basket.
When entering the swords start with the sides, doing the front first the tip of the sword doesn't show as well and some of the effect is lost. Again rotate the basket right and left while the swords are in.
For the reveal have your assistant stand up in coordination with the cloth until you can whisk is off. Again I would have the assistant in the down position when you reveal her being upright is more dramatic.
Also your basket is really nice looking who was your builder?

Thank 61 that is great stuff and I will try them. Smokey mountain made it for me. I have had it for about 4 years never used it until this up coming season. I wanted a Spontus Levitation but I got scammed for $2800 from a guy in IItlay so I put this into the show. Thanks again for the suggestions.

Really appreaciate your two's timing on the vanish, very nice impact. That is often botched and you have it smooth.

I am not sure the music is the best fit. You are going for an energetic presentation and the music has a good beat for that. But it has very specific associations in pop culture. The audience will be hearing the lyrics of eye of the tiger in their heads and it doesn't quite match. Something like Beat It would contextualize more with the illusion plot while being equally energetic. This is the lyrics they would have in their head:

They told him don't you ever come around here
Don't want to see your face, you better disappear
The fire's in their eyes and their words are really clear
So beat it, just beat it
You better run, you better do what you can
Don't want to see no blood, don't be a macho man
You want to be tough, better do what you can
So beat it, but you want to be bad
Just beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin' how funky and strong is your fight
It doesn't matter who's wrong or right
Just beat it, beat it
Just beat it, beat it
Just beat it, beat it
Just beat it, beat it
