Topic: Get a crowd first |

I've lived near Venice Beach for over 30 years and have seen plenty of street performers. The once who make good money get a crowd first and then do a show. I read on here about doing shows for 2 or 3 people, that's not the way to do it. There was a guy walking around eating fire for the 2 or 3 people he didn't scare away. OK, you can only do that so many times a day. A guy I watch a dozen times who walks on glass pulls in big crowds. He smashes bottles which gets people to stop. He has a lot of jokes and gets 40-50 people gathered around before he begins. He told me he does twice a day on weekdays and four times a day on weekends. I saw him on a dreary Wednesday ust after it rained and was impressed by his ability to get and hold a crowd, virtually everyone at the beach was watching him. |

The only folks, I've known to 'survive', are those who can play, for 'no ones'. Anybody can eat pie, when cherrys are in season, ....parked in an orchard. But cherry pie at the same table(?),.. day in and out? Those who bake tarts, of different fruits,.. during the typical-typhoons, day-to-day droughts, for Mr. & Mrs. Meloncholy,... they lick the sweat of the fruit. Don Driver once said: "50% of the money, comes, in 10% of the time I work(!). I live 'good', because, I can work the other 90%." Gallagher |

RiffRaff, Thanks. That was a really cool read! I liked the bit about Microsoft, solving 20% of the 'gliches', thus resolving 80% of their problems(!). Amazing. Thanks, cool read. ,...now we know what you're reading, when not out in the Pitch(!). 🙃 gallagher |
