Topic: Length?

Ok, there was a post a while ago about accumulating posts to increase your rank, but I couldn't post this there, because the topic was locked.

Short of not posting in the no-count areas (and realizing that "me too"s and the like don't count), is there a certain length a post/reply has to be? I was wondering, because it seems some of my intelligent, short posts were not counted, just long ones like these.

Thanks for clearing my confusion.

The only "short posts" that are not counted are what we call one liners. These are ones where you see things such as...

me too

I agree

That's right

Things that basically do not contribute to the Café or excessive thank you's. Threads where the original poster may come in and say thank you to every member who has posted something on their thread adding up their post count dramatically. These are usually deleted. You would not even be able to find those posts anymore. As long as your answer has merit it will count. Again making sure that your not in a no-count post area.

One way for you to tell would be for you to go to your profile and click on posts made in the last 30 days this will take you to all your posts and you should be able to see where your posts are counting and where they are not.
