Topic: New Max Maven DVD from L&L!!
Message: Posted by: GoranS (May 12, 2004 02:20AM)
From Max Mavens newsletter:

"Ever since the release of his best-selling "videoMind" tapes seven years ago, people have been asking Max Maven when he'll do another video project. His answer has been, "When I have something to say." Well, that time has come. In early June, Max will go to the L&L Studios in Lake Tahoe to record some projects that will combine unusual themes with explorations of the DVD medium that use the interface in fascinating ways. Preparations have been extensive, and we'll keep you posted as to the results."

This will be great...

Check out his book FOCUS. It contains what he considers to be the best of his packet tricks. 60, or so, in all. Excellent book!

Thanks Goran.

This will probably not be teaching effects though. I'm sure it will be similar to his video "Mindgames". Whatever it is, it will be Max Maven and excellent!!
Cheers,
James

I'm spending a few days at L&L in June and will be present during Max Maven's video project. I'm looking forward to hearing his ideas, especially as they relate to the use of DVD technology. :smoke:

Nothing I have heard as of yet........ It has been quite awhile now, and it is getting me a bit impatient.

On another note, L&L has just released Osterlind's Mind Mysteries vol. 5, 6, and 7. Definately worth a look at.

Thanks. He unfortunatly doesn't give us a timeline though, so we're still anxiously waiting without answers. :(

Just happy to hear good news of a future release.......breathing a sigh of relief. Thank you Max!

This is great news!
I have almost all of his previous major products...PRISM, Focus, Videomind.
did I miss anything else/

The wait might be a very long one. John Mendoza was filmed by L&L over a year (maybe 2 years?) ago, and the release date keeps getting pushed back. I would not anticipate release of Max Mavens DVD's for quite some time.

But the new Richard Osterlind set came out pretty quickly after the Josh Jay set.
There is also a picture of Michael Weber in the catalogue..something else to look
forward to!

Yes, Kadz, you missed one of Max's best works. It's a hardbound book that was available only in Japan (it is written in both Japanese and English) by the Tenkai Prize Committee. Great material not seen anywhere else. I doubt you will ever find a copy though. It is a gorgeous book.

I believe Michael Weber isn't putting out his material on dvd. He is just sitting with Max Maven talking with Max on Max's dvds.
