I had heard that weepinwill took care of the final necessities for the songwriter of The Hokey Pokey. All was going well until he got the left foot into the coffin and that's when all the problems started.

You should have been at Jack and Jill's funeral. Jack was a stand up kind of guy but Jill kept falling down.

Not to mention Peter Piper's Pickled Pepper send off. It took a lot of vinegar to preserve that boy.

Of course, the most ridiculous funeral request was to bury Little Jack Horner in a corner. Corner spaces in the crypt are rare to find. Mother Goose didn't even come to that funeral.

On the other foot, interring the ashes of the Old Woman who Lived in a Shoe in an ordinary cardboard shoe box probably wasn't all that difficult.

Her children on the other, other foot . . .

Do I see a theme of Children's Funeral Stories developing here?

Was Peter Pumpkin Eaterís wife really put into a pumpkin shell or was it an urn shaped like a pumpkin?

Neither really, Pumpkin Eater and Pumpkin Shell was euphamism for something you couldn't say in those days but understood the underlying meaning as you got older.
