Would this be a good book to add to my library? I've watched multiple reviews, but they were mixed opinions.

We all know that Houdin is the godfather of modern magic.

Would love to hear your opinions.

The answer is already in your question…

In its day this was a great book for any serious student of magic, but its day was in the nineteenth century! It's still a great book for basic sleight of hand magic but obviously it's more attractive to those seeking the old classics and background history of the art. I'd class it akin to reading the Hoffmann books, namely a fascinating look the magic as it was rather than as an essential learning tool for today.

That makes sense. I actually own Modern Magic by Hoffman- 1920 edition. It's definitely cool to read about.

Thanks Topper!
