Since 4 years I think about getting the Matrix suspension.

I contacted malloymodernmagic (by the way Pretty GOOD customer service), but they only sell ''The Lean''

I read some old topics about the matrix effects, but nothing new.

I saw KapMagic sell the version, but I write them a mail and I don't got a respond...

So I'm not sure giving kind of 1000$ to a company who don't send back is mail, someone buy from this website ?

52Magic sell the version too, but I'm not sure about getting the real version.

Need help from you guys !

Not that I would ever think it's a good idea to buy from a knock-off company but an illusion like that could be very dangerous if it's not made properly.

Use the search engine on the Café, there have been several discussions on the Matrix prop. You can review those topics, as I have not heard about anything changing. The creators of the Matrix Illusion have not marketed their versions to my knowledge, or released plans to have one made on your own.

From those older postings, there was only Kap and a China company offering it, both are very questionable sources. You can also search those names and read other member's experiences at losing their money.

Besides the illusion, you will have to strengthen your body to perform the illusion. So hiring a fitness expert, and daily workouts to perform this effect. Otherwise, you could injure your body very seriously.

The only course at this point would be for you to hire metal craftsman and body skeleton experts, and work on your own solutions, or you could do the research and make one yourself, as the original creators have done.

Welcome to the Café, hope you stick around to enjoy the experience.

I read a lot of topics about this illusions and like you said there’s no official version to sell.
Maybe I can buy a plan or from another website.
My fitness level is okay for it, but it must hold me for sure

You could always check with a pro builder like EDF or Tim Clothier. In my experience if they can’t build it they will know who can and refer you to them.

Thanks for these builders I don’t know. I will send them a mail.

I've got the 'invisible chair' lean / sit down suspension in my living statue show.

The best and cheapest way to get one built for yourself is to get a mechanical engineer to build you one, that's what I did. A good engineer should easily be able to work out the logistics of the illusion.

They're fairly easy to make and shouldn't cost above $500, if you're wanting a basic invisible chair type.

Just find a local mechanical engineer and show him a video of what you're looking for and he should be able to work out how to make it.

Good luck!

Neil.

You are asking about two different effects / illusions. The Matrix lean is leaning backwards. The Chair is looking like you set in an invisible chair. You cannot do both illusions with only one setup.

As others have mentioned, there are no plans available. There has not been any information if either of the two magicians that have their versions is offering the plans or illusions pre-built for sale. You could contact them and see if they will provide plans, or even have on made for you. I am sure they would need specific measurements of your body.

At any rate, it will be very expensive, so be prepared and have the cash available, when you find the persons to deal with.

Well I guess that depends on how you look at the work Lean. Invisible Chair Lean can be also used to lean back from my understanding not forward. I also do realize that The Matrix Lean is just the forward lean. So yes you are right that there are two different illusions. As for the cost of it, I do know enough people that will be willing to help me out with putting something like this together.

Snmagic, it is not a matter of knowing the right people. It is a matter of hiring people, like a metal shop. If you read all the topics on these suspensions, then you would know where to start. In the above posts, there were some members that gave very good advice where to find the people you will need to work out the details.

Yes, one leans back, and the other is simply an invisible chair type effect. From what I read, one version will not do both from what I seen in the videos referenced in the other topics.

I never said or implied there was a lean forward in this discussion. "The lean" forward is or was available for purchase. The word Matrix is not used in it's name. Matrix is referring to the Matrix movie. "The Lean" has been exposed on the Internet because the late Michael Jackson performed it in a video while singing one of his songs. The lean is an old vaudeville gag from the early days.

I cannot help you if you are not willing to do the research, that is the 1st step in the process. The 2 magicians that have created these devices, and China are the only sources I am aware of. China was the only source that advertised the Matrix lean back illusion. The other 2 American magicians says they created their versions all on their own. It looks like no one has contacted either of them to find out if they are willing to sell their plans or apparatus.

I can't remember the names of the magicians that made their versions. Use the search engine here on the Café for this topic to get you started. It has been many years since these discussions were posted.

The only "Real" version is the one the movie production company made for the movie. All others are copies of what they believe works. Unless they had movie connections and know the right people. Many movie companies just throw away all the props as they don't believe they will ever be used again.

To be fair, the method they actually used in the movie for the “Matrix Lean” effect or what they called the Bullet Dodge was done with wire work, not some complex mechanical device he would have to wear. It was simply 2 wires attached to a jerk vest. The wires were removed digitally in post. That’s all.
