Topic: Trying to find an old effect
Message: Posted by: Paul Rathbun (Jun 2, 2020 05:59PM)
I remember there being a deck of cards with times written on them. I can't remember the name of the effect but I think it may have used the Svengali principle. I also believe that the same creator of this deck had a trick on their site that involved having a card picked and then a fake gun shot at the deck. When you would go back through the deck to find their card it would have the same amount of holes in it that they pretended to shoot. Any help is much appreciated.

Thank you for the response. That effect looks very interesting but it isn't the one I was thinking of. I will look into "Time of Day" as the plot fascinates me.

Thank you that is very helpful. I will look at Tom Burgoon's site once it is reopened.

I have a deck somewhere that belonged to a friend that passed. We weren't sure if we had a full deck but we did find directions. I still cant find where I put it (been looking since you asked). The cards have written times of every half hour on them. !2:00, 12:30, 1:00, 1:30.... I think the directions were named Time Card or time detective or something similar.

Poof-Daddy,

I think that Time Card is it. Thanks.

I found it. It is Gordon Bean's Timecard - http://www.gordonbean.com/timecard.html

Poof-Daddy,

Are the reactions good enough that it is worth tracking down?

I have no idea, it was one of the items that I still hadn't got around to seeing if everything is there (not sure if the deck is full, it was scattered in a box when we found it but I did remember finding those directions that probably went to it. It is probably a decent effect as he did not buy a lot and what he did was often pretty good.
