Topic: Three Card Joe with standard sized cards

Hi folks!

I have and love Three Card Joe but would like to do it with standard sized playing cards for my online magic show. Is there a gimmicked set similar or equal to TCJ? I appreciate your insight.

It is just the Michael Skinner method using larger cards. Michael didn't create the method, but he popularized it. The illusion is better with smaller cards.

Penguin Monte 2.0 is the same thing. It comes with several resources for teaching the trick and other tricks using the same gimmick. Paul Vigil also teaches a good routine with small cards in his Penguin Live Act.

If you want an "In-between" size version of the monte gaffs, The Parlor Size cards from Card-Shark (Phoenix Brand Parlor Decks) come with the cards you need for all of the "Skinner" type montes. Parlors are 1/2" wider and 1/2" longer than Poker size cards and the PIPs are huge.

There is also the Last Monte by Harry Anderson that only uses one gimmick instead of two.

Is that in his book, Wise Guy? Iíll have to look it up when I get back home. Thanks again for the very helpful tips!
