Topic: Introduction to Sleight of Hand with Balls
Message: Posted by: MERose (Aug 3, 2020 08:17AM)
I have a friend that would like to learn basic sleight of hand moves with billiard balls. Is there a beginner DVD devoted to just billiard balls on the market? Thanks! -Mike

Dan Harlan's video : "Tarbell: Every Trick in the Book, No. 29 Billiard Ball Manipulation" is only $10.00. (so not a huge investment for the beginner to get his feet wet ... er , hands wet(?) --- with billiard ball manip )

For pretty much everything anyone would need to know about billiard ball manipulation, can't go wrong with Levent's Ultimate Guide to the Billiard Balls 3-DVD set. It covers basics , as well as advanced work. $60.00, but a lot more material is covered in 3 DVDs.

Both of David Todd's recommendations are very good (he beat me to them). I'll second the recommendation for the Levent set. It has come up a few times in the For Sale section, from time to time for half price or less.

Brad Bert put out a Billiard Ball DVD (actually he put it out on VHS and it got converted to DVD 20+ years later):

Jay Leslie also put out a good video that included a lot of one-ball moves and routines.

Jeff McBride has some great stuff on his DVDs to get someone started.
Also your friend doesn't read?

Thanks for the tip to check out the Jeff McBride DVD. And I'm pretty sure my friend does read, but I've never tested him. :D

I have a simple, practical billiard ball routine that may be a good place to start:

This recommendation from Harry is one no one knows about but is great.

So is Tim Wright's DVD

Jeff McBride has good stuff as well.

p.s. Good one, Pop!! I'd not seen that before.
