Yes, there is a lot in this article but I find it sad to read in a public magazine. Back in the day, the term "the real work" was only whispered by the top echelon of magicians from one to another. It was like the term "Kayfabe" in professional wrestling. It was the height of secrecy and guarded from outsiders even hearing about it's very existence. Now it has been exposed, made public and thus lost it's power and weight. 20 to 30 years ago when a master saw your dedication and effort on something specific and thought you were ready and had paid your dues to rise up beyond the rest, They would quietly say to you in a private setting... "Let me show you the work on that." or "Here's the real work on that move". It was a huge right of passage. An indicator of potential excellence. Now that is lost and it sadly falls into the land of mediocrity where every magician from bad to good wants to show you "the real work". It's just not the same.
