I think we have ALL been there. Shoot, I have been performing for over 10 years and STILL get nervous! Here is just a few ways I help to cope with the pre show jitters! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39ZS3d-Y6bs&list=PLrBRu76PTUCIkQNdLPu1w6veFcyLWKf-P&index=14 |

What works best for you? Anyone else have any ideas on shaking off the nerves before your show? |

A few things I do regularly. First - I know my material. Backwards and forwards, so to speak. Proper practice means I'm not struggling to remember the methods or scripting, so I don't have to worry about those aspects. It also allows me to focus on interacting with the audience, and if necessary changing direction with material or scripting. Second - Directly before a show I isolate myself and do a brief meditation exercise. This centers me and reduces the pre-show jitters. And I have been known to enjoy an adult beverage to calm the nerves, but I usually save that for afterwards to calm down. |

I am known for grabbing a glass of whiskey and nursing it all night during a strolling/coctail event. Haha |
