Topic: Ideas for a Masked Magician spoof TV show
Message: Posted by: Aroy (Jul 23, 2004 01:40AM)
I am putting together a bunch a ideas for a spoof of the Masked Magician series.

The Premise: An illusion is performed and then the "masked magician" reveals to the audience the method...except that the method is totally outlandish, absurd and prepostrous. Basically it is a series of comedy-based skits.

Any ideas from the magic world out there??

There is some footage of this type of thing floating around Vegas. Hopefully it will see the light of day in the future. The topic is a little dated but nonetheless very funny.

The key to this type of thing is having a real good narrarator to say really stupid and obvious things.

Happy Spoofing

I'll volunteer to Narrate. I've got a ton of professional experience saying really stupid obvious things. :)

That's such a great idea. I'm sure I saw something similar on 'the worlds greatest magic tricks'.

I perform a routine in my bar act that is, in essence, a spoof on that television show. The premise is that I agree to show the spectators the deepest, darkest, and best kept secret in magic, and the secret ends up being... well, not what they expected, let's put it that way ;) I play up the satire heavily, and it always gets a laugh or two.

Just a quick demographic survey for you. Good luck with the spoof.
