I have The Ackerman, Williamson & Kurtz lecture videos and I like all of them. But then I must say that Ackerman and Williamson are amongst my favorite magicians, so this is a very personal thing.

And the material in each video is pretty good.
(but I knew that before as I have Williamson's book & lecture notes, and many of the Ackerman lecture notes and "Here's my Card")

Other lecture/video that I like that you did not list are:
-Tamariz (both volumes)
-Carlos Vaquera
-Jamy Ian Swiss
-Jim Cellini

The International tapes do have some great lectures!
Over $50.00 each though!.I wonder will the price on
some of these babies come down as D.V.D has taken off.
Jamy Ian Swiss lecture is brilliant.I also loved seeing Jeff Sheriden on tape [before his L and L set]
Jeff McBride-Top notch [as of course is the Eugene
Burger] I've been waiting a long time for the promised
Bob Read lecture..

My recommendations:
1. Tommy Wonder's lecture (available from
2. Robert Giobbi's lecture (again from Mr. Leveridge)
3. Perform Like a Pro (from Quentin Reynolds - not
only for kidshows!)
4. Joel Bauer's Hustle Hustle Intensive 4-video set. It covers EVERYTHING working pro's need to know!
It used to be available from Brad Burt but since he closed...I'm not sure where his stock has gone! Can any fellow member advise?

Good luck at the lectures! You just need to listen and no note-taking or hall passes required! ha! Ha!

Magicbern above asks about the Joel Bauer Hustle Intensive II Seminar Vids. Although the shop is closed I am still up and running online at magicshop.com. The Bauer vids are one of my most prized copyrights and I just sold two sets in the last week. Anyone interested can check it out online, etc.

Just some FYI - Bauer does my Fathers rope tie on one of his video's the only change is that he does it standing instead of sitting.

By the way there is no credit given to my Father who invented theis effect and won the Houdini award for it awarded by Mrs. Houdini. And also did it on TV and on the finest stages in the world.

You can see the Master Billy Bishop do this effect at my web site below!

The Williamsson lecture at the International Magic Convention dates back to 1989, but the material is excellent and it runs really long. Williamsson and Gary Kurtz (also the I-Magic tape) are my favourites.

Second the Chad Long Lecture, visual and easy going.
Also Jay Sankey Live -just for the fun of it..

Brad Burt! How wonderful to see you here. I bought a lot of props (including Bauer's tape set) from you back in the mid 1990s. Your teaching videoa are the best I've ever seen in terms of their thoroughness. Do you remeber mailing items to an address in Hong Kong?
Anyway, I wonder if you have considered converting Bauer's Hustle Hustle II and his Lecture video and Torn and Restored Newspaper video to DVD format? I'm sure you'll find a huge market! Especially now Joel has become a 'Persuader" and not a "Prestidigitator'
