Topic: What do you do when this happens?
Message: Posted by: slydini9 (Aug 20, 2004 06:53PM)
More and more I am finding that assisting spectators are putting cards in their mouths! They will choose a card and ut it in their mouth..kids will grab any card and stick it in their mouth..an old woman I showed Gemini twins to picked up both kings and started to suck on them. Well needless to say I am getting angrier and angrier but I don't want to alienate the spectators....what should I do???

What should you do? Um, a sandwhich effect? :baby:

Work for more discerning people.

Stop performing in the local looney house.

Instead of showing them the card and lending it, why not say, "say stop anytime... here, have a peek of your card.."

Works well for me.. :)

Use chocolate cards.

Use Hoyle's.

That's nuts. Why don't you cover you cards with some super hot chilli powder!!!

Don't do card tricks for kids. :devilish:

What happens when you use Hoyle's? Does it taste bad? I have a deck at home that's Hoyle's and there no difference in taste than Bicycles. It's plain cardboard. :)

You don't have the Cinammon-flavored Hoyles?

"an old woman I showed Gemini twins to picked up both kings and started to suck on them."

Maybe it was her way of telling you that the trick Sucked!

Hmm...I was performing for some guys about my age. One guy bit the card after I had him find the last ace in an ace revelation. He just picked it up and out of the clear blue and bit it. It has teeth marks now. I was in shock. Hopefully a one time thing for me.

You can always tell them about all the germs on cards!

Snap on the rubber gloves and don the surgeon's mask. Sounds like unwelcome "exposure" to me.

Poison the deck. Or Before you start the trick, 'Don't put them in your mouth an old lady sucked on em all last week.

I always let them know moisture effects the cards and it make it easy for me to find because it bends them and have them select a card

I worked in a night club last month.

A Japanese man took a card from my deck, and put it right into a girl's underwear... I was a bit angry, and felt being insulted.....

Finally, I did the Smell the Card trick.

Cardfreakhk - depending on the age of the girl it could have been fun to retrieve that card!!!

I used to do a thumbcuff escape. I'd lock someone from the audience in them first with the keyhole facing in toward their body. Then I'd hand them the keys and ask if they could get out. MANY people would try to put the keys in their mouth to unlock the cuffs with their teeth. As the keys were approaching their mouth I'd just say 'You'd be surprised how many mouths those keys have been in!' That line frequently got a laugh depending on the person's reaction.

Give them a tootsie roll.
