Topic: Technical question on Florida magic's portable PA system
Message: Posted by: magicbern (Sep 4, 2004 07:57AM)
I am a kidshow entertainer and I recently purchased Florida magic's PA System (pas767) and I'm really pleased with the sound output from the wireless mic 9with minimum feedback).
However, when I try to play audio CDs using an input cable, there is a very loud 'beep' at regular intervals when I press the pause button on my CD player.
Therefore, it is rather distracting when I want to play games with music and need to pause several times within one single track.
I wonder if any member with technical knowledge can illuminate me as to what steps I can take to avoid this happening to me.
I'd really appreciate some advice as I am going crazy trying to figure out a solution....

Try a different CD player. It's most likely coming from the player itself and not the unit. A mixer will only mix what goes into it, an Amp will only amplify the same. The beep has to to originating from a sound source and if the only sound source is the CD player you're using, then there must be some feature on the player itself that produces the beep.

If it's a Sony, According to the Sony Manual,

Remove the batteries from the player

If you are using the AC adapter, hold the Stop button while connecting the AC adapter and then release.

If you are using batteries for power, hold the Stop button while installing the batteries and then release.

This should disable the beeps.

My sincere thanks to the two members who offered me advice on the above problem.
Actually the solotuion was simple, but overlooked by me at first! I needed to connect the cable from the LINE OUT jack to the 767 amp but I had been connecting it to the headphone jack of the CD player!

Thanks again!
