Topic: Vanishing post?
Message: Posted by: Roth (Oct 16, 2004 10:07PM)
I placed a post in tricks and effects for sale or trade
today 10/16
I got a PM and sold the item in about an hour from posting (love the Café!)
I posted sold on the thread and 3 hours later the post is gone.
Where did it go and why?

It was for the SUC 2 wallet.
Thanks

Why should the post remain once the item has been sold? Is there any reason? All posts are deleted once items are sold, to conserve space here on our beloved Magic Café'!

I have had a similar issue of a dissappearing post from the sale/trade roo. To answer your question, R2, it is nice to maintain the records of transactions for a few weeks at least so that both buyer and seller can refer back to it if there is some misunderstanding or dispute about exactly what was offered, once it has been received.

Myster, ReyRey is correct. One of the staff functions is to periodically review this area and delete posts for transactions that have been completed. If it isn't deleted immediately, it will be automatically deleted after 30 days whether it has sold or not.

So those 18 pages under the DVD/Video listing are all uncompleted transactions?

Sometimes we fall behind and try to catch up. If we see a post that says "sold", we delete it right away. Here's the basic rule for the Let's make a deal section.
Because items are often sold or traded quickly, members may occasionally forget to delete their original post advertising the item(s). To conserve bandwidth and avoid confusion, posts will be automatically removed 30 days from the original insertion date. Should you still wish to sell or trade the item, you may of course repost.
