Topic: Question about Chalet Doves To Rabbit
Message: Posted by: Regan (Nov 8, 2004 10:11AM)
I am trying to decide if this would be right for me or not. It is an expensive prop and I want to make sure it will fit into my show before I buy it.

If I wanted to use this as a closer, how long can the rabbit stay safely loaded prior to the transformation?

If I decided to use this earlier in my show, how long can the doves stay safely loaded in the collapsed position after the transformation?

Thanks for your help.

I do use them as a closer in some shows. The rabbit is fine for 30-45 minutes. The doves (vanished) are fine too. They are just in the dark. They can stand up and even move around.

It is an investment. We live so close together that we should cross paths at some point. In January, there is SCAM near you. Do you go? Lucy and I have and will (if we get invited). Perhaps I could let you "play" with one while we are there. Then you can make up your mind. The paint jobs and hardware last forever. About every 500-1000 shows the felt needs replacing. We keep a can of flat black paint in out "fix it" bag for touching up all our props all the time. (It's like Band-aids!) For some reason only the black ever gets scuffed.

Chalet is the only brand in this prop I recommend for a working magician.

Thank you Bob...once again. You are always so helpful. I really appreciate it. If I get one it will be a Chalet. I just wanted to make sure about the animal safety point and looks like you answered that for me.

I'm not sure yet if I can make it to SCAM next year or not yet. I need to find out some more details and get a line on my scheduling, plus my wife's and daughter's schedule also to see if it might be possible for me to go. I would love to meet you and Lucy too!

Thanks again Bob!
