Topic: Intro and Magic Reference Site

Hello All,

I'm a magic hobbyist, and I've been fairly active in the Internet community for the last few years, though I rarely perform. I'm 39 years old, and have been interested off and on in magic since around age 10 or so.

I enjoy close up magic, and don't do too much with cards.

I run a non-commercial magic reference site at: http://magicref.tripod.com. It features some lists of products, books, and videos for effects such as the Card to Wallet, Linking Rings, Cups & Balls and so forth. It also has many table of contents listings for books in my collection (and those contributed by others).

Welcome to the Cafe'. This is a great forum for magic, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. By the way, I took a quick look at your site. You've got some good information there, and I'll have to go back when I have more time.

Are you a member of FCM?

Welcome abaord, atkinsod.

And a VERY interesting site you have there!

Your tastes are, to say the least, eclectic.

That is one of the most comprehensive sites I have ever come across!

Thank you for taking the time to put it together.

I especially enjoyed the cups and balls history and manufacturing lesson.

I belong to the DannyDew/Bert Easly Ring 55 in Phoenix,AZ. I do know and appreciate the contributions that Danny made for the performance of this well and I thank you for posting his contributions. His son Herb is doing well and is still very active in the community of magic.

No, I have never joined the FCM, though I have thought of it. I'm mostly too busy with my three children (ages 3-5-7) to do too much with magic organizations and such, but perhaps in another year or two...

Doug, In a year or two you will be more busy than you are now. But you make a wise choice if you give the time to your children. Perhaps in 10 or 15 years. . .

Scott ;)
