Zak is a real worker and a very creative thinker in magic.
What he brings with his newest release "Backstab" is a very streamline version of the card stab effect.
No weird handlings or blocks of cards, his version is straight forward and in my opinion it solves all the problems of the previous versions.

Present a flick knife in the U.K. and there’s 2 years in the slammer awaiting. I’ll stick with the mini plunger.

No knife is included. And we are allowed to carry up to a 3" blade if I remember correctly... could be wrong...

Yes you are Iain as long as it does not lock, and especially not flick.

Yeah, but let's not put words into the trailer's mouth! In the USA I think the laws are different...

I'm guessing here, but maybe a pencil is kinda more fun to use...or a chopstick....

Have fun penetrating half a deck of cards with a chopstick.

@cardbiker a few cards in the deck will last maybe through about 15-20 performances, but your "gimmick" will last a good long time. Great for beginners - virtually no skill, no sleights, card is not forced and can be signed

Is the innuendo here intentional? Smile Smile Smile Smile
I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death my right to say "scr*w you" if you persist. [Voltaire Smile]

How is this different from the card stab from Nate Kranzo on Boondock mental?

@Stucky I'm trying to remember how his went. I know Nate didn't include anything in the DVD. This is a gimmick that allows you to show every card in the deck - there are no large blocks in this. Does that help?

If you can show cards individually after the stab as shown in the trailer, then this is a huge improvement over Nathan Kranzo's Stiletto.

Yeah not the sort of street magic to perform in London. Looks decent though I just don’t want to pull a knife out on my audience if I can help it.

Yes, you say that the chosen card is "X" down in the stack - stab and then to prove it you count each card individually - spectator even sees knife holes through each card

Hey guys,
This comes from the creator:
“The UK laws say that its ok to carry a knife with a folding blade 3 inches long (7.62cm) or less”

Also, you can just use a steak knife or anything sharp. We understand, this trick isn't for everyone but there are many options.
