Shortly after reviewing Ron's book about Don Alan's Chop Cup routine, I received a package in the mail containing a stack of books from his Private Studies Series. This is the kind of material that I wish I'd had 30 years ago!
Ron has taken some familiar items as well as ideas of his own and woven them with clear, entertaining scripts that will make them into showpieces for your work. Some of these come with props, others don't. All of the moves necessary to do the routines are clearly explained and illustrated well by Sandra Kort. They are: 1 Gadabout Coins Revisited 2 Sudden Death Gypsy Curse * 3 Tony Chaudhuri's Feminine Side * 4 Butch, Ringo and the Sheep 5 Hornswoggled Again! (a shortchanged routine) 6 Owed to Poker Dan * 7 Dixie! (a kind of cups and balls routine) 8 The Cursed Ring 9 Fair and Sloppy * 10 Charlie Miller's Left-Handed Hank 11 The Mechanical Deck * 12 Paul Chosse's Bar Bill Stunt 13 Senator Crandall's Cut Up Card Trick* 14 Four Squares and a Knot 15 The Siamese Goose Egg Bag 16 Ed Marlo's Time Machine * 17 Second Finger Top Deal 18 Xerox Money 19 Milt Kort's All-Outs Think-of-a-Card * (coming soon) 20 That's the Spirit! (coming soon) 21 Brother Hamman's Final(ly) Aces * (coming soon) 22 Jim Bergstrom's Hat Trick (coming soon) 23 Bob Longe's Worn out Deck * (coming soon) 24 Don Alan's Sneaky Nudist Rides Again! * (coming soon) And some special editions -- Don Alan's Devano Card Rise routine * The Chick Trick ($24)* The Complete Don Alan Chop Cup ($15) and Ron Bauer's Basic Cups and Balls Technique. The ones marked with an asterisk * are card items. All of these are $10 each, with the exception of the ones that have prices next to them. These booklets will give you a fresh approach to your magic. They are well-scripted. You get good, entertaining stories, and most of all, you get ways of directing the audience's attention where it needs to be directed at the most crucial points. There are also many tips on natural handling and acting. Ron has been around for a long time. He is one of the last left who contributed to Bobo's New Modern Coin Magic. And he was a very close friend of Don Alan. He knows how and why to do all of the things you see described in these booklets. If you are tired of doing the same old, same old or the same new stuff that everyone else is doing, that is based on the same old same old, check these out. You can see them at http://www.thinklikeaconjurer.com . There's good stuff in these books!

Bill,
10 Charlie Miller's Left-Handed Hank is that that nice routine where one does stretch a hanky (silk), and thereafter attempt several times to get a knot into it, finishing with the silk through a specs hand (knotted around his wrist)?

This is the one where it is apparently impossible to tie a knot in the hanky. The ending with the handkerchief tied around the spectator's wrist is not in there; however, the "Seven-Cornered Handkerchief" is.
