Hi everyone,
I need your help to find where (book, video, DVD...) I can find the explanations for Dominique Duvivier's Cups & Balls routine ? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Ronnie Lemieux Montreal Canada

It is in his book "Magie Duvivier" written by Jon Racherbaumer and published by Richard Kaufman.

According to Michael Ammar's "The Complete Cups and Balls" it's called "Great Illusion". I'd be interested in seeing the routine; in the book he says that he performs the cups to the theme from "Rocky".
Sound's different; I didn't know that he had anything on video. MM

Yes, there are many videos, available from your favorite dealer or http://www.llpub.com
Actually Michael says Dominique performs the routine "with music (such as the theme to Rocky)" The L&L video has different music (possibly licensing issues?) and you can tell because the audience noises are muted. It doesn't diminish the effect in the least. Although he teaches it as a one person routine, the part I enjoyed most on the video was watching he and his daughter "challenge" each other throughout the routine.

All I remembered was the mention of the Rocky theme- this always stayed in my mind, and I always wondered how the routine would be played out with such a different piece of music. MM

I think the theme is not from Rocky but from another Stallone-vehicle (Don't want to bring it up here though. I'm not a fan of magicians using music other magicians use).
It is a routine that is done sitting and has a very nice surprise...

The surprise to me (and the part he didn't teach!)was that for a seated routine, he frequently stands and changes places with his daughter, thus destroying any theories we might have formed about where he was hiding the loads.

The one he does with his daughter is not that appealing. Kudos for trying soemthing different, but I doubt anyone is copying him.

That routine was exactly why I bought the video. At the time, my stepson and I were going to work out a two person routine for Ren Faires. He's since moved on to more interesting things like skateboards and paintball.
