I haven't seen these in person, but there are some Paul Fox items at the RnT II web site. Can anyone give me a review of them?

I don't get it. RNT II does not have ANY RIGHTS to the Paul Fox name or product line.

The PF trademark went into public domain, it was available to anyone. The style of the Paul Fox cups are not patented or copyrighted there are no rights issues here. As for use of the Paul Fox name, the cups we now spin are referred to as Paul Fox Style cups.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Joe Porper/Pete Biro to Manufacture Authorized Paul Fox Line of Magic The alliance between Joe Porper and Pete Biro is pleased to announce the granting of exclusive rights to the Paul Fox line of magic by the Paul Fox Estate. Long known for the highest quality and innovative magic, Paul Fox effects were produced in limited quantities over the years, and remain some of the most sought-after props in magic. Following his death, and the passing of long-time associate Danny Dew, permission had never been granted by the Paul Fox Estate to anyone to manufacture his magic. Several have made claims, but no one had ever been granted the rights from the Fox Estate. When the high-quality, and the ethical standards of Joe Porper and Pete Biro were brought to the attention of Margaret Fox-Mandel, the surviving daughter of Paul Fox, she contacted them to ask if they would be able to manufacture items created by here father to the same standards as he did. "I want the Paul Fox name to be brought back to the standard it had been, and remembered as one of the great magic manufacturers of his time," said Mrs. Mandel. It didn’t take long for them to decide this was a great opportunity to bring Paul Fox Magic to a new generation of magicians starving for high-quality magic. “We have the technical know-how, and the expertise, to produce Paul Foxes magic at an even higher level of quality, thanks to our CNC milling machines and advanced engineering and fabrication facilities,” said Joe Porper. Pete Biro added, “Paul Fox was a genius at combining technically excellent magic with aesthetically pleasing designs. Something we will proudly continue.” “At the World Magic Seminar we will introduce the prototype of the famous Paul Fox Salt Pour gimmick. They will be manufactured to the same specifications as the originals, and prototype work has begun on the Paul Fox Beer Trick and Rising Cards,” added Porper.”

Sounds like the Paul Fox name is resurfacing with two in competition?
I would be interested in more info on the "precious metal" version of the second gen PF cups. |
