1)I can take four 4's, and arrange them in various ways to make the numbers 0-9. For example, here's how I make a 0: 4+4-4-4=0. "That's easy!" You say?? allright then, let's see you do the equations for numbers 1-9!

Thomas, I'm following you on all but #4, by your math, the answer would be 16.

No, He is correct. The Square Root of 4 x 4 will be 4 + 4 =8 - 4 equals 4.

Adding the use of a decimal, I find:
1 = 44/44 2 = 4/4 + 4/4 3 = (4 + 4 + 4)/4 = (4*4 – 4)/4 4 = (4 – 4) * 4 + 4 5 = ((4 - .4)/.4) - 4 6 = 4 + 4*.4 + .4 = (4 - 4*.4)/.4 7 = 44/4 – 4 = 4 + 4 - 4/4 8 = 4 + 4 + 4 – 4 = (4 - .4 - .4)/.4 9 = 4 + 4 + 4/4 = 4/.4 - 4/4 10 = 4/.4 + 4 – 4 = (44 - 4)/4 = 44/4.4 11 = 4/.4 + 4/4 12 = (44 + 4)/4 13 = ((4 - .4)/.4) + 4 14 = (4 + 4*.4)/.4 15 = 44/4 + 4 = 4*4 – 4/4 16 = 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 17 = 4*4 + 4/4 18 = 4/.4 + 4 + 4 19 = (4 + 4 - .4)/.4 20 = 4/.4 + 4/.4 21 = (4 + 4 + .4)/.4 |
